I've not been an artist for a while. Dont plan to be one with this economy, in the end my mother was right and art should have been a past time. Only the really good ones can have jobs as an artist. To give you a statistic, if you were ever in a 5km run only less than 1% finish the run within basic fitness standards for army qualifications. That was my odds of making a living in art, thats the odds they don't tell you about in art school because they don't do studies on how many jobs there really are out there. Science and the disciplines we learn in the pursuit of truth help make a more efficient, and less cluttered process. Strangely what I learned in the BPO industry is that everything can be measured and optimized. Even something like negotiation and marketing, can be objectively measured and developed.
