📗 A small tutorial on how to install and apply Windows 10 Themes.

To install make sure your system is first patched to accept third party custom themes.

Bullet; Green I first recommend you make a System Restore point before doing so.

💾 Then grab the latest version of UltraUXThemePatcher and install it.  A reboot may be required.
***In rare cases after the Windows 10 Creators Update, the patcher is not able to take ownership of the necessary files in c:\windows\system32 (uxtheme.dll, UXInit.dll, themeui.dll).
Only solution today: Sign in as Administrator, take ownership to the 3 files and grant full authorization, reboot and afterwards use the patcher again as Administrator.
The modification should work now.
Introduction to Desktop Customization (Themes)Customizing Windows 10
Have you ever seen someone's desktop screenshot and just been amazed?  Windows has many options when it comes to desktop Customization.  It just takes a few simple steps and programs to turn your UI into something tailored to your needs and wants.  This Journal aims to start you on your way.
It's easy and fun.  The results can be amazing!
Themes
The following is a very popular method among Windows 10 users to install third-party themes. Patching you system will allow you to control the look of your File Explorer, and other applicable programs like the Task Manager.
It's important to remember before continuing to always set a restore point before installing a custom theme. Please follow how the developer explains the installation STEP-BY-STEP.
First you will need

⌨️ Then place the appropriate theme files according to your Windows Version into your Windows/Resources/Themes folder
(You can check which version of Windows you are running by pressing Windows+R and typing 'winver' in the run dialog.)
The most common versions are 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809 & 1903!

Right click anywhere on the desktop, select Personalize then go down to Themes and find the Visual Style you wish to apply.

If you get the bottom task pane after applying the theme, Press Alt+Shift+P to hide it.

For dark themes Windows 10 loads defaults from
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\DefaultColors]
after every lock/sleep/hibernate/crash.

Make a backup of that key, take ownership of it, and then delete that whole key (defualtcolors).

💿 OTHER SOFTWARE

StartIsBack (Skins the Start Menu and Taskbar)
Winaero Tweaker (Change fonts and other system tweaks)
💊***I take no responsibility for anyone that doesn't follow the instructions properly and bricks their setup!***

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask first.
Enjoy, and long live custo! 💙

hey so i'm a little confused here

" To install make sure your system is first patched to accept third party custom themes. "

" Then grab the latest version of UltraUXThemePatcher and install it. "

is ultraUXthemepatcher the software that's supposed to patch my system to accept third party custom themes?

or do i need to get something that patches my system to install third party custom themes?

Yeah, don't forget the step in between where it says to first make a restore point.

Hello niivu, do you know anyway to move all apps title bar to the bottom?
Since I prefer using windows taskbar at the top of screen so it sometimes covers my apps title bar
Or some ways to make my apps always on top of windows taskbar?
Appreciate your help :D and sr for my english tho :)

Hello! I love literally all of your work, and in a lot of screenshots of the explorer I see you have not only the ribbon, but also the toolbar/command bar (the one with "File Edit View Tools") hidden, and I don't know how to hide that bit as well. Is that in winaero tweaker and I'm missing it?

Don't select "Enable glass on navigation bar".

Hey niivu! Thanks for all the hard work, just wondering is Winaero a better choice over Ultimate Windows Tweaker?

I haven't tried Ultimate Windows Tweaker yet.  If you try both give us your thoughts. From personal use of WinAero Tweaker I think it's great at what it can do.

I think they're quite similar after using WinAero. But UWT has the option to remove some of the clutter in context menus, does Winaero have that?

Which settings do I have to set in ONE?
