The lab was dark, save for the dim red emergency lights that pulsed on the walls. It was quiet in the room, enough for the scarred creature to hear its own heartbeat. It wondered around the area aimlessly.
“Ughnng.” It dropped to its knees and placed its claws on the metal floor. Clanking as it crawled back to its feet. It shook its head as if it had gotten water on its fur.
“What’s going on?” He became dazed as he made his way over to the table where they had changed him and sat on it.
“Hello, Nicholas.” Nick became stunned at the sound of another voice, other than his own. He looked around the room to find him to be the only mammal present. His tail lowered from instinct as he stood up.
“Whose there?” His attention was drawn to the small security camera as it moved with him.
“I am VERN. I.A.M.S. facility AI.” Nick moved towards the small camera and looked out through the doors thin windows as a white and yellow spark flash illuminated the sill. He looked around cautiously hoping to spot any danger as he continued.
“Where is everyone?” He walked over to the door to peer through while his tail brushed along the ground as he went.
“The staff and other affiliates have evacuated the facility due to incursion that has currently taken place.”
“What do mean incursion?” His expression changed from curiosity to shock and fear. His heart began to beat more profoundly and his tail twitched as he gasped Judy. He had remembered what he had almost done to her. How he had thrown her across the room. How he had slashed at her leaving the scar in the door. He leaned against the door as his metal claws emitted an ominous clank throughout the room. The hair on his back stood up as he back off the wall and raised his metal claws in front of him. Nick looks at his hands hesitantly, raising his emerald green glare upon them. His body tensed up as he stared at his transformed body. His shock grew into interest as he was able to feel with the metal razors covered in blood. He looked over to the floor around the operating table behind him. There was a pool of blood and several blood covered bodies that lay lifeless on the metal floor. He stumbled back as he mumbled. I…I didn’t kill them. No, no there’s no way. If he had killed them, then…
“What happened to Judy?”
“Judy Hopps evacuated the facility along with Agent J. Grayson.” Hearing this information gave him a gasp of relief as he brought up the incursion that the voice had spoken of.
“What exactly is the incursion?” His tail swayed as his mood slightly improved. Though his question cast a great shadow upon to what he may find in his future.
“The entire globe is currently under attack from an enemy not from this system. Before the attack they were classified as the Foreign. The scientists and engineers at I.A.M.S have been designing new technologies in an attempt to prepare for their arrival. You are the result of what they have been trying to accomplish for years. A new breed of soldier, to protect in ways that mammals would never have been able to.” His body was fixed to the floor as he ran the information silently in his head. His grinding headache became more noticeable as his body rid the medicines from the operations. He moved his arms as he looked at his body. As he looked into the glass of the doors small window he could see himself, completely changed. He raised his claws to the top of his head and gently stroked his metal ears. He thought to himself. What am I?
“Your heart rate has risen. You are, frightened.” He turned his muzzle towards the small black camera with confusion.
“Is something wrong Nicholas?” He removed his gaze from the camera and regained his focus.
“How do you know what I’m feeling?” He left his muzzle ajar and raised his claw into the air, as if there was someone there.
“My programmers made it so that I can scan a mammal’s bio-readings and tell what they are feeling.” He closed his muzzle and walked over to the door. He raised his right arm and looked briefly at his claw. He pulled his arm back and balling his claw into a fist. He was surprised how quick he had swung his arm as the door curled and fell into the hallway.
“Holy shit!” A large grin emerged from his muzzle as he brought his claw in front of him, moving his fingers trying to get a good look at them.
“I could have opened the doors for you, but that works as well.” Hearing this sense of personality drew a quick snicker from the confident fox. He lowered his arm and walked into the dim hallway. He paused and looked back into the room. I’ll find you, and won’t stop till were together again. He turned back and realized he was still wearing the hospital gown he had arrived in. It was stained with blood and was beginning to stiffen.
“You said something about a suit?” He looked around the hallway trying to find an exit sign.
“Yes, would you like to wear it?” He moved his long tongue along his teeth as he replied.
“Yea... is there a place where I can wash up?” His body began to release a stale odor from his body and his fur had become matted from the dried blood.
“Yes, shall I direct you to it?” He nodded and began to tear off what was left of the gown. He was completely alone after all, who would see? He felt awkward as he stood there completely nude, revealing his toned body. His training at the academy had already gotten him that way before, but there was something else that kept him that way.
“Take a right down the corridor.” As he made his way down the corridor he began to notice the skin on his wrists began to grow back. He ignored it and continued down the dim red hallways.
“Take a left here.” The hallway that he had entered was completely dark. Even a nocturnal predator with the greatest night vision would have not been able to see. His vision began to turn green with blue outlining objects around him. Walls, debris, and even bodies were detailed with the blue. After walking down the corridor for a solid minute, he had finally arrived at the bathhouse.
“The Wash Room is on your right.” He opened the door and entered what appeared to be a locker room. He looked along the walls for a light switch but found the walls bare with only blue lockers lining them.
“The main power is out so I can only activate the emergency flood lights.” The corners of the room began to light up giving him his normal vision again. As he walked into the room on the other side he found a glowing glass panel with three separate icons arranged in a triangle. He tapped on the icon with the bulb on it. The entire room lit up revealing the room’s large size and its decently sized showers. He looked back to the panel and tapped on the shower head icon. It brought him to a screen with a timer and gauge displaying the amount of water available. He went back to main screen and tapped the final icon. It was very self-explanatory. He tapped it and a round bar of soap slid out of the wall into his claws. He walked away to find a large purple machine in the middle of the room. It had four holes on each side and Towels in large print on the center of it.
“Sooo, you’re…you’re not going to watch me, are ya?” He gazed into the camera that mounted above the metal box. His body shivered as the voice echoed throughout the room.
“I will not be able to look around as the camera is fixed in a single position. I will only be able to watch the entrance.”
He nodded his head in assurance and continued towards a shower with the small blue soap in his claw. The showers were very different from what he was used to. The curtains were replaced with wooden sliding doors. The shower head came directly from the ceiling and the tile was made of a black and purple marble like design.
“Please know that since the collapse of the facility there is not much water. Please us it sparingly.”
“Good to know.” He walked into the shower and closed the door behind him.
“Unidentified lifeform detected.”
“Attempting to release emergency doors. Failed”
“Scanning…Lifeform is carrying firearm.”
“Unknown species. Oh no, there here!”
A cool steam filled the washroom and the sound of running water hitting tile echoed throughout the dim room. Nick stood under the stream of hot water as it washed the grime from his fur. His metal ears perked up as he heard VERN’s voice full of worry.
“There is a Foreign in the facility. It’s coming toward your location.”
Thinking he quickly turned the hot water nozzle to the maximum and rushed out of the shower. He could hear the door in the locker room open along with the clanking of metal as the Foreign walked in. He slid behind the metal box and sat there, hoping that it did not find him. His heart raced as the sound of clanking metal came closer. His emerald eyes flickered into a glow as he lunged toward the Foreign that was now next to him. It looked up at him he swiped his claw across it cutting through its red body armor. As it stumbled back he jabbed his other into its torso, causing it to release a loud hiss as a blue blood liquid poured onto his claws as he pulled them out. Nick’s eyes faded back to normal as he stepped back from the gasping creature as its body fell limp.
“That was a Foreign. Comparing it to the others, it was just a scout.”
“I just killed one of em’?” His heart began to calm as he walked over to turn off the shower.
“So, does that means there’s more?” He grabbed a towel from the machine and began to scrub his fur dry.
“That would be the case but I’m not picking up anymore on my scanners.”
Nick wrapped the towel around his waist and headed for the corridor. He stopped and glanced back at the corpse that lay lifeless on the floor. The blue liquid slowly oozing from where he had sunk his claw. He turned back and continued to look for his suit. As he opened the door separating the corridor and him VERN began to speak with a hysteric tone.
“On your left!” Nick whipped his head and noticed a strange red glow that partially outlined the figure. His eyes widened as a streak of blue struck the doorway, missing his muzzle by a hair. He bolted into the corridor as the figure continued to fire at him. The streaks leaving burn marks where they missed and struck the walls and floor.
“I thought you said there wasn’t anymore?!” His vision changed back to the blue outline as he sprinted into the deep darkness. Noticing an elevator at the end of the corridor he looked back to see how much distance was between him and that figure.
“It never showed up on the scan. It must have a camouflage of some kind.” Nick slid to a stop as he looked down into the shaft.
“Where does this go?” He backed up from the open doors and stopping as he looked back once more. The figure was moving closer as its firing paused.
“This shaft connects every sector of the facility. You don’t plan on jumping do…” As Nick begins to run his towel slowly slips of his waist and around his legs. Causing him to stumble as he slides over the edge.
“Oh crap.” He attempts to stop his fall but is too late to grab the edge. His body slams into the cables causing them to shake. He bounces off and slams against the side of the shaft as he falls to the elevator cab below. The weight of his body causing the roof of the cab to give way as he fell on to it. The cab shook as his back hit the floor along with small debris that dropped from the gaping hole he had just created. He lay still as his pain drew a moan from deep inside. His face squinted with pain as he propped his claws behind him to get up.
“Have a nice fall?” Nick could hear the sarcasm in VERN’s voice as he was able to sit himself up. Rubbing his back and adjusting himself he stood up and began to dust himself off. Great, a robot with jokes. He shook his head in disapproval and looked up to see a large melted hole in the door.
“What the hell?” He face contorted in confusion as he moved closer to it. His vision became white as he placed his claw on it. Stumbling back his vision became normal. Only there was power and no hole in the door.
“What the…” He jumped as he noticed a barrel coming from his chest. He moved to the side and noticed a rabbit in a black suit carrying a strange rifle.
“Judy?” There was no response. He stood confused as his eyes fixed on her. He repeated her name as he raised his claw to her shoulder. He was startled, realizing that she was not there as his claw passed through her. He stepped back as the gun began to charge up. He raised his brow his interest was drawn by the glowing weapon. He raised his arms to his face as the door exploded and his vision went to white once more. He found himself still holding the door bringing fear and confusion. He began to breathe heavy as he couldn’t make out what he had just seen.
“What the hell was that?” His stare still fixed on the dimly lit door.
“It would appear that you were given a DPR.”
“DPR stands for Data-Processing-Register. It was originally made for small paw held devices but it would appear that they have implanted a prototype for neural use in you.”
“What the hell does that do? It won’t kill me will it?” His fear began to die down as he slowly moved toward the hole.
“It will not harm you. But I cannot tell what effect it will have on you without a proper scan. The DPR allows for a user to see what has happened in their location at a certain time. I’m not quite sure how you are able to control it.”
“So basically I can time travel.”
“No, you are just seeing what had happened at that location through a feed of data from cameras and machines.”
“It sounds like time travel to me.” A small grin came over him as he hesitantly put his claws on the edges of the hole.
“It is not time travel it’s…”
“Yeah I know, just messing with ya.” He pulled himself through the door and into the dark corridor.
“How much further is this suit?” His vison turned back to the blue as he stopped and noticed a large pile of rubble in front of him. Observing it he noticed a black paw and arm coming from the side. As he walked around to get a better look he noticed that it was the panther that greeted them when they arrived. He knelt down trying to remember his name.
“That is Mr. Levmosky. He was killed by the rubble on top of him. He died from internal bleeding.”
Nick stood back up and gave him a salute out of respect. How could he not, he had saved his life. He had kept him from losing Judy. As he continued to walk down the corridor, he flinched at every sound he heard, watching out for more of the foreign.
“Your suit is in the room on the right. Allow me to disable the security.”
Why do they need security on a suit? He jabbed his claws into the door and slide it open. As he entered the room began to illuminate revealing an assortment of weapons, suits, and other gear. In the middle of the back wall was a glass cylinder with a black suit hanging up. He walked up to it and placed his claw on the glass.
“I take it this is my suit?”
“Yes, if you open the container below it you will find an under suit. Put it on.”
He crouched down and slid the container out, tearing it from the cylinder. This is ganna take some time getting used to. The under suit was grey with a white pattern similar to his fur along the chest. The pants were grey with a black stripe on both sides of the legs connecting a black stripe on the ankle and one on the waist. It was smooth and had a metallic look to it.
As he put it on he glanced up at his suit and noticed that it was similar to what Judy was wearing, only it was much bigger and had a male design. The glass rose allowing a white fog to escape the chamber. He stood allowing a smile to curve down his muzzle as he admired the sleek and fitting suit in front of him. He slowly lifted the suit from it stand and held it in his claws. As he began to put the suit on he noticed a black belt along with some other devices laid out at the bottom of the chamber. Finishing and adjusting his suit he picked the belt up and observed its strange appeal.
“You are currently holding an I.A.M.S. certified combat utility belt.”
Nick held it in his claws flipping and turning it as he stroked his fingers along the black metallic pieces that lined the center. Tossing it around his side and grabbing it on the other he snapped the two thick, black, rectangular boxes causing the belt to emit a faint white light from the center of the smooth metallic pieces. Nice.
“I shall admit that you do look quite nice in your uniform.” A smile grew from his muzzle from the compliment and replied out of instinct.
“Thanks.” His glare returned to the devices still inside the chamber. As he reached to grab them he noticed a similar black piece like on his belt. “Does this go on here?” The device snapped onto the belt along with the other as he brought them inches from the belt.
“I should let you know that your suit has a magnetic griping system on your back as well.”
His eyes widened as he brushed one of his claws along his back. Feeling the metal and the strange metal plates that lined his spine.
“How the heck does this bend, and whats this stuff on my spine?” He pointed at it with his thumb as if VERN was in front of him.
“The magnetic griping system is made of a magneticsynthreded alloy, and what’s on your back is just an exoskeleton for your spine.” Nick looked up to the ceiling confused.
“English please.” His muzzle gapped open as he waited for his reply.
“You can put weapons on your back.” After mouthing the word Oh he looked over to the firearms and weapons that stood stacked in their stands and crates of ammunition that appear to have been untouched for years. Walking over he became interested in the tall black storage lockers that leaned along the wall. Grasping the metallic handles of one of the storage lockers he paused, as if to prepare him for a surprise. As he slowly parted the doors from each other, the contents of the locker were exposed to the rooms light, revealing racks with the same weapon on each level.
His ears perked up as he stopped his claw just before one of the weapons. Swinging his body around, he grabbed the weapon and began to fire upon the creature behind him. It began to fall back as a barrage of light purple struck its body. As the creature began to fall he relieved the trigger of his finger and lowered the weapon to his side. He stood, as his eyes wondered the corpse of yet another Foreign. Its body was burned and morphed from the weapon in his claws.
The room was silent, he could only hear his heart beating fast from within. He looked down at the weapon in his claw as he rose up to his waist. Its body was thin with a strange amethyst glow emitting from the strange decal that curved along it. The bottom was black with a large clearing in the bottom of the stock. As he turned it to the other side there was letters and numbers printed in black along its grey body NM-R 32.
“I’d suggest getting out of the facility.” Alerted by the break in the silence, Nick put the rifle on his back as he heard a faint clink afterwards. As he made his way to the door he heard VERN’s voice again.
“Before I direct you out of here, could you take me with you? I’ll be no good in this place soon.”
“What?” He doesn’t have a body, how is he supposed to get him out of there.
“With your neural implant you can download me into your consciousness. I’ll be able to help you anything, I’ll be like a partner at your side, only ...I’m part of you.” Hearing this sounded a little sketchy. He’s seen enough movies to know what happens when A.I.s get too much power. Especially when they get a body.
“Ehhh, I dunno. Sounds a little sketchy to me.” He scratched the back of his head as he stopped to look down each of the corridors at an intersection.
“Don’t worry, what you see in movies is complete fiction. I’ll have no control over anything. Only what you allow, such as terminals.” As he stood in the center of the intersection he pondered, deciding whether to let it in. Looking down one of the corridors he looked up.
“Which way is the server room?” Releasing a deep sigh as he spoke.
“Excellent! Continue down the corridor on your right.”
The corridors had become brighter as he continued further. His headache became more noticeable as his surroundings became calmer.
“Take a right up ahead.”
Taking out his rifle and looking around the bend he noticed a long window that took the place of a wall. His interest grew as he saw light dimly shining through the glass, illuminating the long corridor. Walking over to look through, he placed his claw on the glass.
“This must be the hangar, or at least whats left.” The strange vehicles and ships he had seen when they arrived were crushed by rock and metal. There was a large hole in the far right of the hangar where large bits of concrete and rubble were attached to metal rebar that had begun to rust. Vines draped and crawled down the gaping hole and green foliage that covered the ground where the sun shone through.
“How long was I out?” Placing his claw on the glass, his muzzle contorted with surprise. Had the plants grown back that fast?
“From the time of the incursion, you have been here for one year and three months.” He became breathless as he stared at the floor. His mouth open with shock and his eyes squinted with confusion.
“How, how am…how am I still alive?” Finding his breath became slightly difficult as he tried to comprehend what was happening.
“In a way, you are no longer…mammal.”
“What the fuck does that mean!?” His voice became harsh from his confusment and fear that built up inside.
“Well, in a good way you won’t have to eat or sleep. You still can but it won’t be necessary.”
Nick stood there with his claw still against the glass. Thinking of what happened while he was gone. What happened to the world above him? What happened to Judy, his world? The silence of the facility was broken with a strange otherworldly screech that echoed through the corridors.
“I’d suggest hurrying. I’ve picked up multiple signatures coming from the washroom in the medical sector.”
Sliding the rifle of his back, Nick pointed it towards where he had come and began to walk backwards. What the hell was that? He continued to walk backwards until he reached half of the corridor. His feet pads slapping the metal tile as the sound of the creatures’ cry becoming louder. Standing in front of him was a large metal door. No windows. No knobs. Looking up the sign above read, Server Hangar. The door slowly opened, allowing a freezing blast of air to cling to his muzzle.

I didnt used this account before for what I do today. I didnt draw and I also didnt was exploring the furry-fandome so much. I was a quiet fan of this. But something puled me out of my nutshell and pushed me directly into THIS here...
Well then I meet you guys, create art... and the rest is history! HAHA
Well, not really. I never expect to find a complete new passion. I thought photography would be THE passion. But I was wrong. It was THIS community I was looking for. It was to create art that really keept me going and going and going untill my wrists start to hurt from drawing the whole day!
I never expect that art can transport so much, can mean so much and that I can use it to share my mood and energy.
I want to say thank you for all those moments you guys gave me so far. It isnt e
Interstellar Darkness: Chapter 4((Sorry i've been so inactive! Sometimes life just gets to you am I right? Anyway, hope you enjoy! Don't forget to comment and tell your friends about this!))
Night fell as my son an I continued through the seemingly endless forest. We finally came to our destination- a large bush under a great oak. I put my son down from my shoulders and I approached the shrubbery. I push aside some branches and propped them away with some rope and twine revealing a door embed in the tree. I take a wood colored key from my pocket and unlocked the door. I entered into the home I made for my family. The main room was a small living space with a kitchen on the side. To the left was a hallways with bedrooms, and to the right was the bathroom. And of course, right in the center of the room, was a small white wolf, doing push ups and sit ups. My other son believes that power and greatness comes from strength of the body and won’t believe me when I tell him that that isn't entirely the case.
He sees me
