Great to have found this page. Just discovered and finished the trilogy very recently, and can consider myself a new fan of the series. Great that there's a 10th Anniversary omnibus edition of the trilogy, which includes a bonus chapter, out now. 
Please tell me I'n not crazy... but does this seem familiar to The first book of the series?

Vaguely, but it does sound like it diverges quite a bit.
I talked with the author. It was purely coincidental.
Thought as much.
Do you know if there is a pace for The Black Prism art? I can't seem to find a group.
Apparent there is (the-black-prism.deviantart.com..., but it's a tad deserted.
I seem to remember seeing a general Brent Weeks group around somewhere, but I can't find them.
