The Goose Girl by ~NicoPony This is part of my theme of the "12 Days of Christmas" ~ On the Sixth Day of Christmas my True Love Gave to Me.... Six Geese a' laying.... A wonderful drawing of The Goose Girl and her Geese inspired by the Grimm's Fairy tale. Nicopony has many wonderful traditional art pieces and her skill and subtlety brings the eye into the elegant lines of the drawing.

The Goose Girl

"Alas, Falada, hanging there."

Then the head answered,

"Alas, young queen, how ill you fare.
If this your mother knew
Her heart would break in two."

Illustration of The Goose Girl by The Brothers Grimm
11x14" pencil on matboard

When you are eight years old, and love horses and fairy tales very much, I highly advise not reading this story, because you will be forever traumatized by the image of a talking decapitated horse head.

The goose on the left is a special levitating goose, with magic powers. I think he came out of another story, so you'll have to excuse him. Either that, or it's just bad drawing. I prefer tha magic goose theory.

The Goose all the way to the right looks EXACTLY like my great great great great great grandfather!
