Fear itself

I've always been a huge fan of Green Lantern and all of its universe. So, when a long overdue commission turned into an illustration of the GL Corps' worst enemy, I was beyond happy.

~KoniraThax gave me a simple guideline: illustrate Sinestro in his classic costume. As soon as I read that statement, my mind was already conjuring up this image.
I've always been fascinated with Sinestro and the danger he represents, having once been a proud member of the GL Corps. He knows every weak spot, every rule, every detail an enforcer of the Guardian's law and justice has. And he uses it to his advantage. His yellow ring feeds off of fear; one of the most poignant emotions a creature can experience. Overall, an amazing villain.

There's lots of details I like about this piece, particularly the composition with the energy border all around Sinestro and making up the frame of the piece itself. I also like how regal and disdainful he looks as he crushes yet another Green Lantern. His eyes and whole expression are powerful and penetrating and I've always loved space settings
