Master Nicolas, I was just comparing your excellent illustrations of the Primarchs with the Forge World models and was struck with the following question - if you were combining elements of your own original take and the Official versions in a new series of portraits, may I please ask which Primarchs would be more "You" and which would be more Forge World?

It just struck me that these are two great delights that compliment each other very well and was wondering how you would mix them to suit your own tastes!:) (Smile)

That's a very cool question, as usual

To be prefectly honest, I didn't find too many deviations from what I'd illustrated and what FW came out with in regards to the Primarchs. Much of the basic elements are all there and it's just a matter of certain tastes that the difference truly lies. For example, they made Dorn clean shaven, whereas I always drew him with a moustache; same goes for Russ, whom they made a blonde, instead of auburn (or outright redheaded) as I painted him. But as far as the armor and ornamentation goes, things are pretty much hand in hand, because the theme of each Legion is so poignant that you really have no other choice but to stay within certain parameters of the basic archetypes.
