This may have been one of the most awe inspiring locations I have ever been to: the mighty Rockeries Pass in the Drakensberg Escarpment of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Back in 2019 I was on an epic 8 day trek with my friends @insta.philipp.lutz and AlexNail the latter has been guiding landscape photographers in the area for years now. Together with ryansimpo and two other photographers we embarked on what must have been the most epic trip I have ever been on. Some of you may have seen this image before, or rather a variation of it. I edited this shot right after I came home from Lesotho back in the day. Now with some time having passed I tried a slightly different crop, revealing more of the light the sun cast onto the monumental rock faces of the pass. As I was taking down my other two Drakensberg Prints I had on my wall for the last 2 years I figured I may just get a new one instead and this was my candidate. If you are interested in visiting this really hard to get to place I recommend you hit up AlexNail to take you along on one of his trips.

Achieved as per usual with HaidaFilter and FLM_foto tripod - in this case the new CP26 Traveler!

About everything you could want in a mountainous landscape photo here with a sky that was wiling to help out! Yep. One memorable moment for sure!

Yeah, absolutely. I guess the only thing missing was snow. But we were there in autumn, so no snow yet.
