1K ViewsAhhh... so that's why Miss Marx called him a cyclops. He's a "grimy, good fer nuthin' cyborg" too, as she and other ableists would probably say.
So yeah, turns out he's NOT like all the dumb, headstrong men who drag their people into danger you see a lot of in movies. How much you wanna bet him showing restraint here is only going to get the more gung-ho types on the ship mad at him?
Fun fact- this guy's appearance is a mix of my grandpa and my great uncle. He got the eyebrows from the latter.
And yes, the medal he's looking at was Andrea's. It's something each captain of the Balena passes down to their successor. Funny that she chose someone significantly older than her? Oh well, that was, like, ten years ago.

Not enough of those in fiction. It's an easy, quick excuse for conflict to start.
Yeah. Although I guess if your mission is to explore the unknown or help people in trouble, there's a good reason for going into danger. That reminds me, what's the Balena's purpose? Is it just a home for the crew, or do they have some kind of mission?
They're just trying to get by. The world's been flooded for thousands of years. Islands like the one they were going to check out have only recently started popping up.

Good man this captain. As for his age, I suspect he's honestly the best man for the job, regardless of what his critics may think of him for being older or having a cyborg eye or whatever, and Andrea knew that. Sounds like some of the crew may give him drama over this however
