What could possibly be more uplifting for people fighting a deadly disease than a bunch of scowling cro-magnon statues feebly lurching toward an off-kilter stargate? Almost literally anything. "Cancer... There's Hope" is the final work of sculptor Victor Salmones, and is apparently the piece he invested the most sentiment into. He may have been pleased with it, but I find it quite ugly and dreary. I've never seen anybody visit this place (cancer patients or otherwise), and who can blame them? I can't believe that the money that went into the plaza this resides in, the statues, and the various plaques with feel-good messages that litter the site couldn't have been spent better.

Could've bought a few thousand people with cancer ice cream cones or something...

They should sell these statues for scrap and send you an ice cream sandwich using the proceeds.

The good kind, made with cookies and something better than vanilla inside.
