Put a sock in it, Quickdraw. by NicGiraffe Put a sock in it, Quickdraw. by NicGiraffe
This was a gift done for the lovely :iconfox-the-wandering:

We're both major fans of Thirty Thirty (the big guy), so I thought it'd be fun to have him interacting with another heroic western horse, Quickdraw McGraw (an alternate idea I had was having Thirty Thirty dressed up like Quickdraw's alternate identity El Kabong). Quickdraw should stick to his day job.

You know, it's been so long since I've even seen a Quickdraw cartoon that I can't remember whether he can actually sing or not.

Yeah, they used to air his 'toon on Boomerang (do you guys get Boomerang over in the UK?), but that station's changed drastically from what it used to be.

And thank you! =D

Yeah, I can't even remember the last time they showed a Jetsons episode. They used to have a weekend block where they'd show older cartoons, but they haven't done that since forever. And like you said, no one wants to stay up into the middle of the night to catch them.

I think that, with this, Thirty-Thirty will be better off on Moo Mesa...

LOL, I think so too. At least I seem to recall the Dakota Kid being a better singer.

Derp, I meant the Cowlorado Kid. XD I got his name mixed up with Dakota's.

Marshal Moo would sound familiar, too.  And, strangely enough, both Cowlorado and Fuzz were ropers. :-)

I didn't even realize that Moo and Bravestarr shared the voice actor until you pointed out. Thirty Thirty would definitely be experiencing deja vu, lol.

Someone needs to make a Moo Mesa/Bravestarr crossover happen. Like now. *nods*

When I first saw Moo Mesa, I was like, "HFS, that's Bravestarr!" In that moment, I also wondered if the voice actors for Fuzz (Charlie "T-Bone" Adler) and Thirty (Ed "Baloo" Gilbert) voiced Cowlorado and Dakota, respectively, but that wasn't the case.  Jeff "Blitz" Bennett voiced Cowlorado and Jim "Fookin' Everybody Else" Cummings voiced Dakota.

There is a plot solution for that: Cudley the Transdimensional Cowlick.

Somebody made a hilarious comment on a youtube upload of the episode "Skull Duggery Rides, Again." : "Don't worry, kids, Skull Duggery survived the steampunk gadget and became Stampede, from Bravestarr"

Yep! I didn't get good at recognizing voices until way later on after Moo Mesa had aired (and I never grew up with Bravestarr), but I've done that before, mistake one voice actor for another. One time I was under the impression for a while that SAVO the computer from Danger Rangers was played by Jonathan Harris of  Lost In Space fame, but nope. Charlie Adler doing a pretty good Dr. Smith impersonation.

I think I've heard of Cudley before (talk about thinking outside the box when it comes to character concepts XD). He would work for a concept like that.

LOL. As awful as YouTube comments can be, sometimes someone will leave a comment that is just golden. =D

I used to think Jeff Bennett was Griff, because he does a good English accent, and because he voiced practically every other incidental male character. :XD:  He also did a dead-on impression of Gary Owens for the Scooby Doo: Mask of the Blue Falcon movie.

I think he's an idea born of desperation and/or recreational substances. :XD:

Yeah, and then someone pulls the video for copyright, and he comment gets lost.  There needs to be a website, if there isn't already, for highlighting YouTube comments that are actually good. :)

I can't remember what Griff sounded like (aside from being British), but that's an easy mistake to make. Jeff Bennett is everywhere. I haven't seen that movie (I was mad it wasn't an actual Dynomutt/Scooby crossover, lol), but I might have to check it out just to catch Bennett's Gary Owen's impersonation.

XD What wasn't in the 80s (am I correct in assuming that that's the era from which Cudley hails?)?

Oh that's something I can't stand about YouTube. I don't think there is a site out there like that, but I can always look to see if there is. BTW, I recommend going to YouTube and reading the comments on cook Sandra Lee's videos. They're some of the funniest things in existence.

I can't thank you enough again for the awesome gift, Nic. It's really great to see Big Thirty and Quickdraw hanging out, even if the big guy doesn't approve of Quickdraw's singing lol. I don't remember Quickdraw being able to sing either, but it'd make sense for him to be so bad at it so it works. XD Seriously, though, thank you again. <3

Sure, anytime! I was more then happy to do it. Yeah, having these two hang out was too good an idea to pass up on. Based on Quickdraw's voice, it'd be a shock if he could actually carry a tune.

Pft. I think the whole world would stop if he carried a great tune. Even 30/30 would be shocked if Quickdraw actually sang. XD

This is so cute! I don't know much about 30-30 aside from the handful of episodes I've seen, but he looks great here. (I saw the drug episode. Damn, that show got dark LOL.) I love the idea of him meeting Quickdraw. I don't remember him ever singing, but I think it's safe to assume he's bad at it. Most of the old HB cartoons weren't that great at singing from what I remember. They ranged from bad to okay most of the time, save for Cindy Bear.

As usual, the art here is great and I love the idea! :D

Thank you, thank you! =D I have not seen the infamous drug episode yet. I need to start re-watching Bravestarr at some point.

I can believe that. Plus, it'd be weird for QD to turn out to have a voice like Blake Shelton or whoever considering his speaking voice, lol. Even Cindy Bear had a William Hung moment when they had her sing one time in Laff-A-Lympics.  XD
