Interview With The Tigress by NicGiraffe Interview With The Tigress by NicGiraffe
Another sketch featuring a big kitty! This is gift art for :iconhotrod-302: of his iconic character Sierra, who he wanted to see being interviewed. I reached into the big grab bag of animals ignored by artists and furry fandom and made the young lady conducting the interview for her magazine/newspaper/what have you a tiger quoll.

ETA: Ogre wrote up their interview, which I really recommend checking out: hotrod-302.deviantart.com/art/…

Sure, but I was going to fix the wonky spots someone else alerted me too first and re-posting it, if you don't mind?

Man, Sierra's tall! I admit I don't know much about Sierra either, but you did a wonderful job with this picture! :) The characters look awesome, and I too dig how you used a tiger quoll. I've never heard of anyone using those, but I think that's a brilliant idea! The spots and stripes on both characters really add onto their designs and both make them stand out in their own ways. ^^

Awesome artwork, both ladies look very lovely! :D

Here are some critiques, though:

The interviewers breasts are off-center, so to speak; they're kind've going off to one side. I suggest bringing the right one over a bit more to balance them out.

Both of their torsos are rather short, whereas their legs are a bit too long. I remember you said  you prefer to give your anthros more human-like bodies, but even humans don't have proportions like that.

Other than that, the whole thing looks very good. :D

Thanks for catching that! I'll tweak this and re-upload it.

I did have a question about your comments on their proportions though. For Sierra I actually used this picture for reference: us.cdn1.123rf.com/168nwm/feedo… (which was bigger on my phone), and employed the head units method for them both. I think trying to keep them their respective heights (Sierra's 6'3'' and the quoll's much shorter at five something) kept throwing me off, but do you have any tutorials or advice on making sure the proportions are correct?

Your welcome. :)

Hm, yeah, in the photo, the girl's torso is slightly longer and her legs slightly shorter than Sierra's and the interviewers', proportion-wise. But its very easy to get thrown off on little things like that - I've certainly been there myself. :XD:

If you've been through my gallery recently, you'll notice that I've been doing a lot of pics of a 7'2 liger with creatures who are a foot shorter than he is. One trick I use to keep both types looking proportionate is make the liger's body not only taller, but wider. That way neither one looks stretched or squashed.

I did look up a few of tutorials just for the sake of it, though. Hope they help:

Yeah, it's just a pain in the butt. Anatomy is something that I'm... I guess the word is paranoid, lol -- about getting at least moderately right (along with hands and poses).

Ooo. I've never thought of trying that before. That's a good tip. And yes, those links you found have been helping with the recent stuff I've been working on, especially the first one (I did find another link like it before, but this one covers a little more material). Thanks again!

This is really cute! :D I don't know much about Sierra, but you did a great job with this picture. It's also really cool seeing a tiger quoll! It's pretty fitting and you almost never see anyone use those. I love the added touch of the little spot on her neck.

Is it weird this made me think of Animalympics? Not as an exact replica or anything, but like some sort of cartoon cousin to it? I do know she's a boxer (that's about all I know) so that might have contributed to my brain jumping to this happening in a short similar to that.
