In memory of Nic022
My name is Samuel and Nic022 (Eric O.) was my father.
It is with a great sadness that I have to inform you of his death, on 14 February 2017 after a short and difficult battle with pulmonary cancer.
My dad was an artist and a great human being, passionate about his creations, music and sculpture.
I was following his Deviantart account, looking at every one of his renders and he was following my projects as a photographer.
In fact, he was rendering most of his creations on a very powerful computer I had given him (I was working as a 3D artist before) and I also gave him a lot of different softwares, which he then mastered and became even better than me. Watching him evolve and create more and more impressive digital art made me very proud of my dad. He loved fractals and often talked to me about his recent artworks, work in progress and methods.
I don't have the words to express how I feel, but I assure you that he loved every comments you made on his art.
DeviantArt has given him a lot of happiness during his last 4 years.
I will keep this profile online, in memory of his work.
I also have on my desk some of his 3D printed fractals and objects from Shapeways:

Thank you for being a part of his life.
Sincerely,
Samuel Zeller

Dear Nic022, your art was a great inspiration to me, and in extention I had a lot of respect for you. So sad to get this news (news to me as Ive just found out that you have moved on..) We never met, and yet I always felt like a kindred spirit. Perhaps we meet again, peace love and light
also many thanks to you Samuel for bringing the news forward, for being an inspiration to Nic022 and for leaving this page and all its wonderful art here, its very much appreciated .. and I think I feel you so much when you say the words fail to express for you.. I feel like that too, Nic022 was a beacon of inspiration to me, and I still vividly remember the joy when he commented on my art. That I managed to return the awe I have had so many times when viewing his works, really made my day, and I still draw from that. as an end note to all this, Im so happy our paths crossed before this final parting.

i haven´t been much on dA lately, because since about two or three years i´m more into music - now that i read this news, i first couldn´t believe it, i have tears in my eyes - your father was a good man, i very much liked his friendly way of answering every comment...
i hope the sun shines for you and wish you all the best...
greetings from germany
