NOTE: This I find is a handy image to have in my Image Bank. I use for sampling when a plain backdrop or clear sky is needed. A gradient always tends to look artificial. This is due to the lack of camera noise in the gradient output when it is used in conjunction with other photographic images. The noise can be added artificially by using the noise filter, but that mostly still looks fabricated.

This method I find works well and in addition the tone and colour can be easily manipulated independently to suit the target image by using the hue/saturation or a Curves - Adjustment Layer assigned solely to the layer containing this image.
