My second painting in painting class. I really like this one! :)
This one was for our 3d painting assignment.

Based off this: wfiles.brothersoft.com/3/3d-an…

There's also a lot of distortion at the top of the painting, this is due to the fact that the whole thing didn't fit into the scanner, so the half that wasn't completely underneath got blurry. Still looks good though.

Interesting way that you did the contrast.

Thanks, There was a lot of water involved, more than usual in fact. I had to wash over just about everything just to smooth the painting out so I could get some of that smooth yet metallic feel.

...and if you haven't noticed, I forgot to add in the shadow cast by the sword, which is directly below it. I was rushing to get it finished in time. Luckily I still got a one hundred for it, plus the bonus points for getting into second place during peer judging.

I thought it made the sword mean more magical.

Thanks. :)

I just have a knack for dark shades and black and white pictures. But when I have to paint in color? Oh, man, the horror!
My next painting (which I've already finished, they just haven't given it back yet) is a disaster because it has so many water stains and some of the colors were running off the paper, etc.
