Description
Hey hey hey! Trying out textures and practicing my lighting. I do still need to practice others things like my lines and color. 😁
Also a little story! (I did use gpt to help me with punctuation and flare. But I did write it!!!)
Galaxy trudges through the forest, his massive form towering over the trees. His thoughts are empty, his expression somber. He’s been walking for hours, the motion a distraction in a world full of tiny creatures. There isn’t much a giant can do. Every step sends a low, rumbling boom through the earth.
“Where to go... where to be...” he mutters, his voice carrying through the woods.
Galaxy knows this part of the world well. It’s dangerous, for a normal horse, filled with large predators. But most of them know better than to challenge him. The ones that don’t are swiftly taught a lesson. With the power to manipulate fire and crush trees beneath his weight, Galaxy is not a creature to be trifled with. But not everything in this forest seeks survival. Some things seek competition.
As Galaxy moves through the woods, a strange darkness falls around him. It’s not from the canopy, nor the setting sun—but something far more... unique. The air grows thick and oppressive, as though a rift in reality itself has opened. Galaxy pauses, his instincts on edge. “A challenge?” he wonders aloud, his ears flicking up, the faintest spark of excitement stirring in his chest.
The ground beneath him dissolves into a pitch-black void, and his hooves are swallowed by it. His eyes dart, scanning for any movement, but there’s nothing. Then, from above, a faint hiss breaks the silence.
“Found you...” the voice sneers, its tone laced with malice.
Galaxy looks up, and there it is—a glowing green disc of swirling magic, suspended in the void above him. The darkness surrounding him is like a portal to another dimension, where nothing can escape. From the disc, a dark shape emerges—teeth jagged and imperfect, its shoulders adorned with a large eerie green swirl. Galaxy's understands. Not the creature itself, but the situation.
“Come to play?” Galaxy booms, his voice low and thick, reverberating through the oppressive silence.
The response doesn’t come as sound. Instead, it pulses directly into Galaxy’s mind. “Ah, I see my pet finally found one of you... good. That’s the fastest time yet. Due to size and temperament, I assume this is my project... Galaxy, meet my new creation: Ecadulir.”
As the voice fades, the creature falls from the green disc, splattering onto the ground with a sickening, wet sound. It leaves behind a viscous pool of liquid, black and oily, seeping into the shadows. The creature rises, its movements slow but deliberate. It hisses as its body unfurls.
Though Galaxy can’t see it clearly, he knows the beast is now eye-to-eye with him.
“You know… I’m not too big a fan of not being able to see what I’m fighting,” Galaxy mutters, with the familiar thrill of battle begins to rise in his chest. This was exactly what he needed.
Galaxy’s control over fire is loose, unpredictable—more of a roaring wave than a focused beam. Still, it’s more than enough. He raises one massive hoof and slams it down onto the earth, sending fire bursting outward in a chaotic explosion. The fire courses across the ground, sizzling through the liquid that Ecadulir has left behind. The beast doesn’t flinch; it appears as though it doesn’t feel the heat. But the impact sends it skidding back, crashing into an invisible wall with a resounding thud.
“That’s better,” Galaxy grins, a rare smirk breaking through his usual stoic expression.
Despite the flames, the creature remains mostly obscured in shadows. Galaxy’s eyes narrow as he assesses his opponent. Ecadulir is about Galaxy's size, much larger than the previous creatures sent to challenge him. Its body is serpentine, its arms ending in grotesque three-fingered appendages, with matte grey armor covering it is slick with coagulated blood, and the green tendrils hanging from its armor writhe in the air like venomous snakes.
Before Galaxy can make another move, Ecadulir lunges at him with a speed that belies its size. Its long body coiling like a whip, the tendrils snapping toward him, ready to strike.
Galaxy chuckles, feeling the familiar rush. This is what brings him a rare bit of joy. A challenge.
“Let’s see what you’ve got,” Galaxy mutters, sidestepping just in time to avoid a tendril aimed for his leg. With a grunt, Galaxy swings one of his hooves toward the beast, the fire spilling from his hoof like an uncontrollable wave. The fire licks at Ecadulir’s form, but the creature seems unaffected—its armor does not burn, its blood does not boil. It simply shrieks, a horrific sound that echoes through the dimension of darkness.
Ecadulir strikes again, but this time Galaxy is ready. He doesn’t rely on his fire. No, this is a “hoof to hoof” kind of fight. The beast lunges with its coiled body, but Galaxy steps forward, swinging one of his massive hooves with all his strength. The impact sends Ecadulir crashing back into the void, where it momentarily vanishes before reappearing again, rising from the shadows.
“Good one,” Galaxy chuckles, thoroughly enjoying the exchange now. The fight isn’t just about survival—it’s about the thrill of battle itself.
But this fight is far from over. Ecadulir, relentless as ever, springs back into action, attempting to ensnare Galaxy with its tendrils. But Galaxy is faster. He ducks, sidesteps, and with another powerful sweep of his hooves, he smashes through the creature's body with a loud crack. The beast is flung into the air, but it does not scream in agony—only in anger.
As Ecadulir rises once more, Galaxy feels his excitement building. This is the kind of fight that makes him feel alive, the kind of fight that brings a rare smile to his face.
“You’re persistent, I’ll give you that,” Galaxy says, his voice tinged with admiration. “But I’ve had enough.”
With a snap of his mind, the fire erupts once more, but this time it’s controlled. A firestorm roars to life around Galaxy’s hooves as he moves to close the distance with Ecadulir. The creature thrashes against the flames, but it cannot escape.
Galaxy’s hooves strike again, and the fire is more than just an extension of his power—it’s a means of control, shaping the environment around him. He steps forward, his massive frame driving Ecadulir back toward the green disc in the sky.
The beast fights, but its struggle is futile. With a kick, Galaxy forces Ecadulir back to the portal when the creature is suddenly yanked backward, its form dragging through the air toward the disc, the green tendrils recoiling. The green swirls on its shoulders flare as it shrieks in frustration, but it can’t escape.
"I should have known this would be no where near your level.... perhaps Nexsus... or Thrust....." A voice echo's.
"swirl will have your head!" the creature hisses as the green disc flickers, and then, it is gone. The darkness recedes, and the forest begins to return to normal, the oppressive air lifting.
Galaxy stands alone in the now-empty space, his chest heaving with excitement. His smirk widens. The fight had been good—too good—but now it’s over.
“Pathetic,” Galaxy mutters under his breath, shaking the remnants of the battle from his hooves.
With one final glance at the place where Ecadulir had attacked, Galaxy turns and continues his solitary journey through the forest. For now, the fight is over—but he knows another challenge will eventually come. And when it does, he’ll be ready. After all this is sort-of his job.
