The wax on both scrolls was still cooling with the stamp of the Inquisition boldly set in the hardening burgundy liquid. With a scroll in each hand, Inquisition Guard Captain Elora Trevelyan handed one each to each of the guards standing before her. The last two inquisition guardsmen stationed here in Denerim, the capital city of Ferelden. “Reynolds, present this letter the Arl’s Guard Captain in Redcliffe. It’s not a sure thing that you’ll be accepted by the Arl’s forces, but they’d be stupid not to accept you on sight.” She shifted her gaze to the younger man. “Montoya, I’ve already spoken to Captain Garvanna. He is waiting for you now. You’re already admitted into the King’s Guard.” The younger guardsman’s eyes lit up brightly at that. “Thank you, Captain!” Montoya beamed his gratitude at his now former commanding officer. “If you ever need anything, just let me know. I’m only here today because of you.” “Truly, Captain.” The older man now spoke, his voice far

Fenris Interlude - DA2 Fan Fiction

Fenris sat alone in his mansion, the wine bottle in his hand nearly empty. His thoughts thankfully not stirring. Ever since he had met his sister in the Hanged Man, his anger had quieted down. No longer rising flames, but smoldering coals of their former energy. So much had happened in the last year. So much since Hawke had entered his life. The fire in the hearth made a loud pop as a knot in the log met its fiery match. That brought Fenris back to the here and now. He drank down the last swallows in the bottle in his hand, then lowering it down and letting it roll out of his hand on to the floor. The bottle rolled toward the fireplace, join

The Sword of Morrow - Ch. 01

The rain pelted down on the gobbers as they continued to dig out the chassis. It was an old thing covered in a coat of rust at least a generation old. But the dwarven engineer had said it was repairable, so the salvage operation had begun. Dwarves, men, and gobbers went to work on excavating the behemoth. A dwarven engineer and a human field mechanic lead half a dozen goblinoids in the recovery operation. You couldn’t tell on plain sight whose side the machine had originally belonged to; the forces of Menoth or Morrow, for all the colors had been eroded and washed away by time. The weather here on the river was unbearable this time of ye

Torga was furious… again. “Lynks, Singleton, Kerr… ah hell, Gunmages, to me!” Torga called across the riverbank to all his men. Lt. Torga Grimmr's commission was new, very new. In fact his commission was only two months old. He was also the first trollkin to earn a commission as a gunmage. He has sworn fealty a long time ago to Cygnar. He’d felt the call of the pistol even longer before that. But to achieve his dream of being a gunmage he would have done almost anything. And when he heard of them in the Cygnar army he’d left his moot that day to find himself as both an adult and a gunmage. Torga was large for a

The artificial sun lit up the sky. Rain continued to pour down, but now looked like diamonds in the light. The underside of the storm clouds momentarily lit up, still looking dark even in the new face of light. Even prepared for it, the gunmages winced at the illumination. On the riverbank lay the enemy. Men and warmachines unloaded from a river barge that looked like it had only landed moments before. All temporarily blinded in the newfound daylight. Their banner was everywhere; on their robes, on their armor, and on the shield. Menofixes. The symbol a perverted crucifix; with the ends like arrow points facing inward at the ends except for

T’mys awoke to the sound off birds chirping. Blinking his eyes open he saw light illuminating the tent. He rose and dressed in the driest uniform he had. Exiting the tent, he squinted his eyes as daylight assaulted him for the first time in days. Close by he saw Torga sitting on a log next to a campfire. The wet logs giving off an obscene amount of smoke, but Torga sat on the up wind side of the fire. The camp had been put together quickly the night before. Only three tents had been assembled before everyone turned in for the evening. This morning five tents were now erected and Vasquez and Lynks were hanging clothes out to dry on lines

Rymus Ironhands watched as the Reckoner was rolled over onto its back. Rymus had been up since shortly after daybreak and had set about on working on the second part of his mission. Recovery was all well and good, but here was a chance to examine the enemies’ technology. When he had risen so had Tau’ry and Mozt, the remaining two gobbers from the mechaniks. Together the three had spent the early morning repairing and reattaching the left arm of the Sentinel. Once repaired the boiler and furnace were refueled with coal and water, and lit off. Tau’ry and Mozt were going to help the gun mages set up the camp, which they had begun

In the early afternoon a large covered wagon arrived, guarded by a unit of sword knights. The wagon type was a standard around any Cygnar army camp anywhere. The bed of the wagon was fifteen feet long on top of large six-foot tall wagon wheels. When the wagon was covered it’s canvas rose almost 15 foot in the air. This type of wagon was the primary transportation system used to transport warjacks. Since the train system didn’t go everywhere and the expense and transportation of coal to refuel the warjacks was a problem in itself, the old ways had remained the best. Once uncovered and the canvas ribs removed many contraptions were ex

Fort Falk was no longer just a fort. Long had the posting been on the eastern side of Cygnar, sending out patrols up and down the King’s Highway. Over time what was once a small fort had grown up. Fort Falk had become the prime defense of the eastern provinces, not just from thieves and brigands, but it monitored the travel on the Black River as well as now being the first line of defense for whatever came forth from the Bloodstone Marches. Cygnar had been caught by surprise once by the Skorne, it would not be caught unprepared again. Not only had the fort grown but also so had the shantytowns that surrounded it. Fort Falk was ever so mu

Every military Installation has a pace. The normal morning routine of Fort Falk started each day with an officers call, then each officer would return to his unit and fill in his or her troops with what they needed to make the day go by. This happened everyday, everyday except Friday. Friday started out the day with full military formation. This served as a muster and inspection of troops for the garrison commander. These were as formal or informal as the commander felt that particular Friday morning. The 92nd had arrived on a Tuesday. Wednesday had been spent with the finding of more permanent billeting and the debriefing of Lt. Willis and

T’mys walked up the streets of Mercir towards the familiar destination. The hilly seaside town was well on it’s way to becoming a large trade city. The cityscape itself was built up along the hills around the large bay and outward, stretching more around the waterfront than inland towards the marshes and mountains. Looking across the streets between the houses and storefronts T’mys could catch momentary flashes of the bay. Apparently the cold weather had followed him south. The wind blew chilly through the streets of Mercir. Being built on the hills seaside face this way the wind had an easier time moving around the city unlike

The soft glow of fire was easily seen flickering back and forth behind the black cast iron stove doors. It cast a dancing orange-ish glow on the walls it faced. T’mys kept watching the dancing flame behind the stove’s door window, the warm light slowly hypnotizing him. He was trying to make himself fall asleep and forget the trouble on his mind, and the couch he now laid upon was an apt a place as any. Across from him was his father, rocking slowly in his chair. Steven Willis had just lowered the flame in his reading lamp, finished with his book for the evening. The two men sat in silence just watching the fire. T’mys had been

Chapter 3 Everyone had crowded into the small cockpit. Zen was in the primary pilot’s seat, the holo-display lit up in front of him. Uli had come in and sat down in the only other chair in the forward cabin. In front of her was a display that filled with static interspersed with images of space. There was so much light across all the spectrums is was causing havoc with the visual display. She sat there quietly waiting, hating that they we essentially flying in blind. Myls had come in a short time later, putting his hand on her shoulder as he moved in behind her chair. She reached up gently squeezing his finger before crossing her arms

“Bout time.” Dani said as Myls’Stanis walked into the cargo bay. She was busy configuring something on the display on the forward bulkhead of the compartment. Uli'Narah sat on a crate leaning against the rear bulkhead while Zen was against the far side of the cabin tinkering with his drone that was hovering next him. Myls set down next to Uli. “Okay,” the squad leader started “We all know this was as last second as missions get, but by now we are a used to that. But the reason that we got sent out here in a human freighter will be obvious in a moment. Six days ago a long range radio telescope got lucky and

Is it Trans-phobic to not date a Transgender?

Recently the R&B singer Ginuwine was hailed as Trans-phobic after refusing a kiss a transgender woman and stating that he would not date a transgender woman. In the wake of this many articles and videos have been published on this. I recently saw a video in which transgender women called cisgender men 'weak' for not wanting to date them. But honestly I have to disagree with that assessment. If a woman said no to a man who wanted to give her a kiss, she would be well in her right to say no, and no one would question that decision. What if that man was a transgender man? Would that woman be considered trans-phobic as well if she refused t
