Vector painting of Maribel, the model who posed during David Kassan's workshop series at the Mobile Art Conference. I didn't make this at the conference, but used sketches as well as photos I made during the weekend as reference. I consciously tried to apply some of the painting techniques David demonstrated, but in vector instead of pixels. 100% Vector, Painted in InkPad with a Nomad Brush.

Hey! Looks like you already know the people behind Brushes! Great work. My own attempts at vector-art failed miserably.

Thanks. Yep. I've actually met Steve Sprang (the creator of Brushes and Inkpad). He's a real stand-up guy.

That is cool. I like the way you did the hair in front. So was David using ArtRage when you where there?

Thanks so much.

Yeah, he was using ArtRage. Was amazing to watch him work.

That's her eyes, for real. Very intense. During one of the drawing sessions she was facing my direction so it looked like she was staring at me. Felt like I was trapped in a spotlight. Glad you like.

I was just going to leave a lame comment of "she is beautiful" before I noticed.

Thanks. I was quite surprised by it. As I mentioned to Katie, all these strange people showed up in my inbox. I wasn't sure quite what to think of it. :)

Thanks for noticing.

Oh, and by the way, happy birthday. Belatedly. It's been on my mind, and I've been so occupied with other stuff I haven't gotten to properly make you a cake or anything. ;)

Strange people or just strangers? lol...

I notice a lot of things.

Thanks.
Don't feel bad. No one got around to it, but that is fine.
I am used to it. (not really, but it is something to say. :P)

Wow... The way that you've set up the colours is awesome.. The overlapping shapes make it look as though she's about to come alive.. :)
