The Approaching Storm

My first test with a new 10 stop ND filter. Exposure was proving very problmatic with this scene - even with a 0.9 ND grad I couldn't hold the exposure to the left of the sky so I had to settle for merging two seperate shots togehter.

Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset as some seriously heavy cloud comes in from the northwest and covers the sun.

The brightest point in the sky is (obviously) the sun behind the heavy cloud. Rogue light from behind the clouds picked out the green on steeple hill in the distance adding some nice yellow tones to the scene.

Not bad for a first attempt with the 10 stop i feel. I can see it won't be used very often however. Mainly just so I can get some longer exposures during sunrise. I want to nice smooth water with blue sky and the golden morning glow on rocks.
