Aspen Alley 2 by Nestor2k

Aspen Alley 2 received a daily deviation this morning! I logged into DA with 408 messages. I was shocked!

This is my first DD, and I must say I am very glad everyone enjoys my work. Not only did Aspen Alley 2 get fav's, but people have been looking through my gallery and adding other photos to their list.

Thanks for the support, and I hope to astonish everyone again with another photo in the future!

Have a great day!

Wow, I haven't posted a journal entry since April 2008. :)

Not much has been going on lately. I have been hired to take some commercial photos, and I have taken some senior photos for a couple of students. I have been busy at work programming, doing technical support, dealing with cut budgets, etc. I bought a house, and I am dealing with that. I am trying to get out to take photos, but we are at that time of year where everything is ugly. Once snow starts to hit, then I can get out and take some bad ass photos.

If you haven't checked out my Aspen Alley photos, then you are missing out. They are the newest pictures in my gallery. Go check them out!

As for comics, well... I will try to get on that soon too.

Have a wonderful day!

Bout time right? Finally took some photos with the digital this weekend. I took some film too, and hope to have those developed on Tuesday. Hopefully... I have a good one out of that.

I still have a roll of Velvia 50 that I need to scan. I had it processed with C41 on purpose. If you don't know what this means, then it probably doesn't matter to you. Just, it "should" make a blue sky green. Also, other colors will seem out of whack too. We'll see I suppose. :)

I have a couple rolls of Velvia 50 left for the 35mm camera, and I bought 5 rolls for my 6x6. However, I think my 6x6 has seen better days... I may have to buy another medium format camera. haha.

Anyway... I have stuff to do. Enjoy the updates!

The Canon EOS 5D is now in my possession. The 20D has been handed over to my dad, and I will be shooting with the new one.

Lately, I have been shooting a bunch of film for my Photo class. Once I get the chance, I will post some of those up too.

My overall impression of the 5D right now... it is a heavy mofo. I think it is mainly the lens I got with it, but daayumn.

Anyway, off to sleep.

Well coming soon for me. :) I just placed the order for my Canon EOS 5D. It is coming with the 24-105mm IS USM lens. It should be here next week sometime. I'm excited!

In the mean time, I am going to be shooting some photos with my 1936 Rolleicord medium format camera. I got some TMAX-100 film, and I'm going to go use it! haha.

So, I have a couple of Black and White photographs being displayed in the Student Art Show at WWCC. There will be a reception this Friday (Dec 7) at 7pm. If you are in the area, stop by!

The show runs from Dec 7 to January 7.

I will post pics of the art show in the near future! :)

Ok. I am really wanting to replace my Canon 20D with something better (full frame sensor). The obvious choice would be the Canon 5D. However...

This camera has been on the market since 2005. It has been out longer than the 20D, and the 20D has seen 2 replacements since it was released. (the 30D and the 40D)

I can pick up the 5D for REALLY cheap. Like, cheaper than my 20D was when I bought it, and it would still be new.

But... the 5D is due to be replaced, and after some research... it looks like it will be replaced with the Canon 7D in January or February..

I think I am leaning closer towards practice more with film, save up the money, and get the 5D's replacement when it comes out.

What do you think?

I'm a little late on this one... Oops. :)

Anyway, I want to thank everyone who has visited my gallery! All the comments and favs are much appreciated. Thank you for all of your support, and I hope to bring you more great photography and Squeeks. :)

Have a wonderful day!

Hey all!

I got a new lens for my camera! It is a Canon 100mm-400mm 4.0-5.6 with Image Stabilization. It rocks! :)

RJ and I are having a little friendly competition. I already know what photo is better in my opinion, but we are wanting to see who thinks what photo is better. Now, each photo is of the same bridge. Look at each one, and then vote using the poll.

The rules: The artists of the 2 respective shot may not vote. And Voters must not tell what one they voted for.....

Happy Voting!

So basically I am shooting film now. Mainly because I am taking a photography class at the college. I haven't used film before, and I want to know how to develop and print my own photos. So, I am giving my digital a break for awhile.. (doesn't mean I won't be taking it with me... hehe)

Film does a better job with long exposure shots. My EOS 20d does ok if I don't go longer than a few minutes. I did a four-hour exposure of the stars when I was in Yellowstone last year, and it looked "OK." It had a bunch of noise that wasn't tolerable in my opinion. Film is constantly being exposed even in its canister, and even if there wasn't any light exposed to the film.. there won't be any noise. (Unless you buy cheap 1600 speed or something)

So anyway.. That's that. It may be slow on dA for awhile for me. I might be uploading more of my comic stuff, but I am also busy with other classes and work. My class involves black and white, so most of my photography posts will be that.

Well, cyas! Have a great day!

So, RJ and I just arrived back from Yellowstone. Let's just say... I have a bunch of stuff to upload. I am going to upload them about 5 at a time. I'm too lazy to do them all at once. hehe.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it all. Go check out RJ's stuff too once he gets his uploaded.

Have a great day!
