Some of you might recognize this young man. But then again, he's so unkempt compared to his adult self. Just look at that hair. Oh my, and the shirt is untucked! And that bed hasn't been made in hours. Tsk, tsk, young man. It's incredible you ever made it as far as you did in life.

But then again, he does look almost happy here with his fantasy novel and his collectible items. Maybe we shouldn't be too hard on him.

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.

P.S. as for gangly you can always claim your brother was the model.

Hmm, that's true! Gangly happens. {= ) And, thanks!
I love it, you are amazing!!!

My first thought on seeing the picture was, "I always pictured Supernumerary as being a lot older."

Then I got to the author's note and went, "Oh. That would be why."

Hehe, yeah. I figure he's ~15-18 here. And very gangly, possibly beyond what is strictly anatomically accurate, but oh well.

Alas, I didn't end up adding book titles like I was originally thinking. I decided it was a lot of work for what would probably result in too much business for something that isn't the focus of the picture.

Essentially me, every weekend.

Sans tie, Star Trek stuff, large bookshelf and actually sleeping in my room, of course.

But still.

Hey, no worries. Some of those things are easy to fix, like wearing a tie and sleeping in a bed. You can get there if you really try! {; D
SpecstacularSC's avatar
But that requires strenuous effort!

Gasp! At least he's wearing a tie . . . but look at the state of that pillowcase!

Seriously, though, I love this. It's great to see our boy in a state of relaxation; he's wound so tight now, for so many reasons. And you've got some fantastic texturing going here--the carpet, the wood, the blanket and the wall all look like distinctly different surfaces, and the carpet especially looks very realistic. Nicely done!

Gosh, I hadn't considered the pillowcase. Tut tut indeed. ... Or maybe hugs are what's called for. It's entirely possible that one could get away with it in this time. I mean, not if you interrupted his reading, but in general.

Thank you! This is the first time I've gone to the effort of a full background, like with details, in a while, so I'm glad it paid off. Especially the carpet, which was the most time-consuming. So. Many. Dots. o.o

It's good to have my hand back in the game, though. I still owe people stuff from March Madness (three years ago now?), and this glimpse-of-the-past artbunny came with a sibling: Derik and his dragon. I want to try and get some serious activity going in this account again. {= )
