As if being an outspoken Anora fanboy didn't make me enough enemies here ;) I had to go and make this.
Hope you girls can take a joke!

*pulls lock of hair in front of face* People get upset over hair? *stares* Really? *snorts* There is something seriously wrong with my gender if they get worked up over head insulation. That is what my hair is for. Keeping my head and neck warm. Couldn't care less about how it looks. As for Miranda....have yet to finish ME1 as I only recently got my hands on the game.....but I am bound and determined to keep her alive out of sheer respect. Also I love the accent. I have a thing for British/ Aussie accents. Not a romantic thing, mind you. I just really like the way they talk. Comes from watching way more Doctor Who than is probably healthy......and Star Trek: TNG.....and Star Wars..... Ye gods I am such a sci-fi nerd......

Are you kidding me? Miranda and Mordin are my favourite ME characters. Especially after playing Lair of the Shadow Broker and reading Miranda's correspondence.
I even played as a male Shepard just to romance her, but I didn't think the romance arc was that great. Now if only I could romance her as a female Shepard .... *sigh*

Ohh, I believe you, but on average Miranda is not very popular with the fangirls. Especially before ME3, when this was made.
I also wish I could have romanced her as a female Shepard, since I can't stand Mark Meers voice acting.

I know, it probably has something to do with the fact that she was genetically engineered to be perfect. But she's still human, and still has flaws.
Haha, I prefer Jennifer Hale as well. Plus I don't really like playing as men :P

"...she was genetically engineered to be perfect. But she's still human, and still has flaws."
I fully agree.

You don't like playing as men? In that case if you ever play Crusader Kings 2, you should take advantage of it's mod-friendlyness and enable Enatic Succession.

I'm not really a fan of strategy games, but it's nice to see female characters having important roles!

lol I didn't hate Miranda so much as I found her a little irritating for her habit of always spouting rules and being so uptight about everything, plus I think she's a little too attached to her protocols. But you are right, she is a great character and she had a lot of good development points :meow: It's just that I'm a little crazy and she gets annoyed at me every time I do something she doesn't like or something that's a little insane :XD:

In many ways Miri is your typical fiercly loyal, stickler for regulations, military Officer. Expect she's female and working for the bad guys. That's also why she's got the biggest developement though. Everyone else on the Crew including Jacob it was already clear that they, like Shepard are only with Cerberus to fight the Collectors and when in a case of having to make a choice would always side with Shepard against TIM.

This is true. And that's why I couldn't ever really hate her, even if I didn't love her I could definitely see and understand where she was coming from. I definitely like her better than some of the other human choices we have floating around that's for sure. I could even forgive her for her misguided idea of wanting to put a control chip in Shep's head, because honestly, she just wanted to do the right thing. I didn't really agree with her, but that doesn't change the facts. And I do like having her along when it finally gets to the point of taking the collector base, I can't help feeling a bit smug and happy inside when she sides with Shepard and basically tells TIM to get stuffed :giggle:

I lol'd. Especially considering most of my FemShep ended up being spunky little things, with battle scars like you wouldn't believe and hair either almost nonexistent or all over the place. My reasoning being that you realistically cannot be both a scarred war survivor and supernaturally good-looking at the same time... (then Garrus Vakarian came and proved me wrong, but that's a whole other story. ;) )

As for Miranda... not my favorite character, but still is interesting. It's the thing I love about ME as a whole : all characters are there for a reason, and all have a story to tell. As such, even if I dislike traits of their persona, or if some really irk me, I'm literally unable to hate any of them. As sad as it is, this game had made me into a big hippie piece of fluff.

Space is big, and adventure-filled. And we all tend to love different types, and fanboy/girl other different things ! As long as you're an ME fan, you're perfectly fine by me :D
(and as long as you keep doing those, 'cause it's hilarious !)

Absence of battle scars could actually be explained by medical technology. What I find very unrealistic often on FemShep drawings is when her upper body and in particular her arms seems way to flimsy to carry several weapons around.

I'd like to keep doing those. Unfortunatly I never really got anything much in the way of inspiration again for over a year now and I'd vowed, that given the oversupply of motivationals of at best average LOLworthyness here on DevArts I'd only post more if I really am confident I came up with a good one.
If you played DAO you might like my Anora one.

The only newer idea I came up with last year unfortunaly isn't about any Bioware RPGs at all. To understand it, it requires you to not only be familiar with the Hellsing anime. But also with a bad and unsuccessful US TV show, a bad while highly successful US book series and a very good but also very little-known-outside-Korea Korean political drama series. Which is why I never put if on DevArts. Found here if you are curious:

Thanks for the feedback, though!

No problem at all !

I guess you're right about battle scars - after all, this kind of technology already exists, and we can only assume it would've been perfected, given ME's setting. There's a lot Salarian science can do... Which just raises plenty of questions concerning the ones keeping them.

I don't play DA, sadly. I feel weirdly compelled to stay faithful to ME - besides, there's the fact that one space opera is time-consuming enough not to add a fantasy epic into the mix- as I generally tend to go about my normal day, and sacrifice my sleeping time to playing... But my brother did seem interested by the game- should he pick it up, I'll know where to send him.

Otherwise, I admire your attitude - especially since people have a wide variety of humour, and it might be hard to find just the right motivational. Still, you can do those in order to amuse yourself and a selected few, even if you do not upload them. ^^ Being a curious cat, I pieced together the hints you gave, and I want to watch Dae Mul, now. Perhaps once Uni will have released my throat from its clutches.
Thanks ! I'm all for hearing of new things.

Ohh you should DAO a try. Zevran and Alistair are also very popular with the Ladies here on DevArts. Then again you also should try Dae Mul and there's this pesky thing about there only being 24 hours per day ;) .

Haha, I love that XD
I have to admit, that I was kinda jealous that Miranda had this awesome hairstyle the female PC's can't have, but that didn't keep me from becoming a fangirl of hers...I was actually kinda disappointed when I learned that she wasn't an available LI for FemShep because I liked her character so much ^^
Which is why I was even more suprised, when I went to forums on the Internet and so many people seemed to hate her :XD:

I'd have preferred that as well, then I'd not have had to play the games with Mark Meers poor voice acting to romance her. You should check out this FemShep & Miri comics series: [link] .

Of course ♥
I did not play the Mass Effect series with the original English voices, so that was not a problem for me XD (but the German voice for MaleShep isn't any better XD) But I also just didn't want to play as a male Shepard because somehow I think that FemShep is just cooler to play XD
Aww, thank you for this link, they are great =D

I like her a lot. She's an interesting character who you actually have to work for to get her to like you. I'm debating whether or not I want to put up with The male Shepard voice to romance her, but I have seen the romance, and I really like it.

Her hair is cool, but I always want to bang my head when people complain about how they want long hair. There is something called military regulations to follow. You want long hair, give the Shepard a bun and say her hair is long.

she does have damn fine hair, doesn't she? In all honesty she had to be my fav from ME2, I think most people are put off by the initial ice princess attitude and never try to see beneath it. which is a shame because after you help her sister, her 'armor' chips away and you meet the real her.... i mean she smiles and everything!

Now there's an interesting different perspective.
I consider Miri the most rewarding of all the possible ones for MaleShep, if you don't count the way their romance was treated in ME3. Starting out as your Cerberus Ice Queen, gain her respect during the campaign against the Collectors, fall in love and in the end she turns against TIM for you (I hope you've seen the Paragon ending to ME2 with her in your team) .

Impressive. I myself can't stand Mark Meer, so I played only one game as MaleShep to romance Miranda. All my other games where as FemShep, who all stayed faithful to Liara. Not just me, also the Mrs is a big fan of hers and there would be hell to pay otherwise!

Three FemSheps, all romanced Kaidan in ME1, two I wasn't loyal I got with Thane in one and Garrus in the other and my last FemShep I was loyal to Kaidan (though I don't think the bastard deserves it really). Three MaleShep with Ashley, again same pattern with Kaidan, two I wasn't loyal, one with Tali and Jack, third stayed loyal. Then one more MaleShep with Liara and that shep stayed loyal to her.

It was more her Faux-Australian accent for me.
I'm Aussi myself, and I actually have this weird American/British mix to my accent. That may be because of the obvious influences, but anyway.
No one I know speaks like Miranda, either.

There's a point. It's emphasised too much, at least for my liking.
It's like how actors use bad generic Eastern Europe accents, sometimes they pull it off quite well, but for some, it's just annoying to sit through.

The only times exaggerated accents are allowed are when playing Team Fortress 2.

That must be so aggravating... Especially when they're featured in movies so much...

Ahh, never tried that one myself.

It's usually worse in TV series. Have you ever watched "Scrubs"? There's an episode who features two "German tourists", who's German is way inferior to that spoken by Elliot for whom it's a 2nd language.

lol, my FemShep is bald, but I guess Miranda´s perfect woman attitude annoys quite a lot people.
But the main point of all the resentment is probably that Miranda play Sheps second in comand without any real sign that anybody would follow her if Shep bites the dust (again).

The more hidden subconscious reason is this:

"WTF!?111! How dare she to play the boss!!!1!! I´m Shepard! All your bases are belong to me!!!11!!"

Nicely done! :)

I think calling her the most well developed character is going a bit far, at least not compared to the others. Unless its a pun, in which har har well done :P. But honestly all the hate kind of annoys me. I mean come on, she was not that bad. I actually kind of liked her by the end, and while her quest was a little on the standard side I thought the end was sweet:).

No it's not a pun. She's the only one who really changes, rather than resolves old issues. Compare her at the beginning to her coming along for the Paragon ending.

Well at least she's not jacob taylor. I can't really figure out what it is about her that makes me dislike her. I don't cause she, again unlike jacob, actually develops as a character as the game goes on. But when you have an ancient biotic warrior, a smooth killer, an old battered merc veteran, etc..I guess she just kinda seems like white noise in the background.
