I was only able to attend for a day, but what a day. The Masquerade and Burlesque show were hot items, especially with Tony Stark hosting. What really gets me though were the attendees. In the game room for instance, are a few individuals, who have become elite players at their game. That's fine and good, but when you must pay fealty to them to get in the game it really kills the mood.
My friend felt threatened while watching me at the DDR machine. He didn't play, but those in line waiting didn't treat him very well. It is very common - I started playing Pokémon GO with almost everyone else, male, female, young, old. I was having particular difficulties with glitches, yet there was no end to people's protestations that Pokémon Go was awesome, and that you shouldn't have to reinstall it to resolve server glitches, etc., even with the evidence staring them in the face.
Project Diva Future Tone was recently released on the PS4, and even with the recent patch there is a timing sync issue on some of the songs(when sound goes through HDMI on a LCD Flat-screen often it is out of sync). Even though I can adjust the sync and beat their high score in Systematic Love, they insist that nothing is wrong. In the face of damning evidence they insist they are right and that you are wrong. It is sick enough that elite players are stomping and bullying people for nothing, but then someone with more experience comes along and they really let them have it.
This isn't just an anime nerd, otaku, gamer, whatever thing, it happens in daily life. IT professionals are a good example, to save money they buy engineers inferior hardware which can't run their modeling software without serious problems and inefficiencies killing their productivity. We also have managers making decisions without considering the evidence, and firing their frontline workers when their hare-brained schemes fail, wrecking the economy. It's a human problem, and we should all be ashamed. All of us, all races, creeds and philosophies.
Should we really have to put up with the bad attitudes, bullying and disrespect while we are on vacation? Is learning truly a one-way street for some people? It is the height of ignorance to make retarded comments such as "You're not really a Touhou fan if you can't even beat any of the games on Easy Mode." It's exactly like saying you are worthless and have nothing to contribute to society based on the clothes you are wearing, or criticizing someone's assignments or essay because they use two spaces in between sentences instead of one. Ignorant, petty people.
Anyway, I've said enough. I want to remember the good times about the con, not the bad, so I had to get this off my chest.
