Since the movie is coming up really soon I couldn´t resist doing a fanart of both Wolverine and Deadpool teaming up and escaping just in time before a huge explotion catches both of them. They can´t always help but get into some troubles but we love them for that. Hope the movie is a lot of fun too! enjoy guys!
This came out great! The first thing I noticed, was your interpretation of the design aspects of Wolverine's suit. The way you rendered the 3 stripes on the side of his torso (as being raised blue pieces of metallic material that matched the same blue metallic material of his shoulder pads), looks really awesome on top of the black stripe underneath it! I also really like that his belt loops are also blue, and that you used two thin, yellow, beveled stripes on gloves...it all just really brings the whole design concept together in a way that is much more cohesive than the original design, while maintaining the integrity of the original design concept. I also like that you kept the classic black flares on his blue boots. This is definitely my favorite design of his suit that I've seen yet. It really is the perfect, modernized version of the original blue and yellow suit!
On a side note, the neon vibrancy of this piece (and all your work, for that matter), really looks super striking. Their action poses are also super dynamic as well.
I may be alone in this opinion...but I honestly don't like the yellow suit design of the new movie coming out. The boots don't have the black flares, the stripes on the side have no black design element and are not even the same shape stripes. There's no black elements at all in the movie suit...and after waiting 24 years for Wolverine to finally wear his actual costume in the movie...you would think that they wouldn't fuck around by giving us us a watered down version of it. In your illustration, you did something original with the suit design, but you maintained the design integrity and kept the incorporation of the color, black. You kept the shape of the stripes the same. You kept the boot flares. You changed some elements, but what you changed, didn't take away from the design. The movie, on the other hand, didn't bother to take the approach that you did with your design, which is why it's so disappointing.
It's also pathetic that after 24 years, they presented us with 3 trailers for this movie and they had the nerve to not even give us a one second glimpse of his mask by the end of the third trailer. It's not like the MCU has our loyalty as paying customers anymore. Everything since "End Game" has been half-assed and mostly terrible. That being said...after waiting 24 years, they shouldn't have denied all of us, a one second shot of his mask in their marketing of this film.
Also...after all of us waited 24 years for him to FINALLY wear the suit....they had the audacity to not even hire a composer to write an official piece of cinematic super hero music, so that Wolverine could FINALLY have his own theme song! Instead, we're going to have two brutal, immortal warriors aggressively hacking and slashing through enemies to save the multiverse...to the music of random fucking Madonna song?! The music should be epic, brutal and intense....and instead we get the mismatched, inappropriate and utterly baffling soundtrack of Madonna. What part of this makes any sense? I would think, that if you were not going to bother to compose cinematic themes for these two masculine, R-rated, bloody warriors...then at the very least, you'd be playing some heavy metal music in the background...or something...ANYTHING other than fucking Madonna! I honestly don't understand how people can defend a marketing decision like that. What fan of Wolverine or DeadPool, wants to watch them engaging in epic battles to a Madonna soundtrack?! REALLY?!?! Who is in charge of marketing, over at Disney? How does this person even still have a job?!
Sorry for the rant...but I'm honestly so sick of Disney at this point, that I have NO faith in any content that company produces anymore. It's nice to see that Wolverine is back in a new movie...but man, we all deserved so much better than this after all this time. All that being said though...you really made an impressive and awesome piece of art here and it is very praise worthy. Excellent work!
