Chapter 3: Shin-Shun
It is 7:05 AM in a nearly minimalist bedroom with bright sky blue walls, white molding and ceiling, and grey-blue carpeting. The cabinets are stocked with various things, notable things being a few trophies and a partially obscured photo of brown-haired twin boys in the 6th grade. The twins in question, now high school seniors, are sleeping peacefully in their bed with a grey-blue cover over them.
The alarm clock on the small bedside table on the left starts ringing, causing the twin on the left to open his blue eyes as he look up at the white ceiling of their bedroom before turning off the clock. He then shifted himself to the right towards his his still resting brother. As twins, they both have round faces with their brown hair done in mirroring medium-length fringe haircuts.
"Shin, it's time to get up." Shun said, his brother fidgeted a bit.
"Come on," Shin mumbled. "Can't we sleep in?"
"No," Shun said. "We got to get already for school."
"Fine..," Shin said with a yawn as they slowly rolled out of bed, their feet landing on the carpet while slightly swaying . The two are revealed to share a single well-toned body from the necks down, with sleek abs that accent their slimming physique. The twins are wearing only a pair of briefs. They quickly go to the bathroom for a quick ten-minute shower, lathering and rinsing before they grabbed a towel to dry themselves before wrapping it around their waist. The twins then head over to the sink to brush their teeth, followed by flossing. They then apply shaving cream to their faces so they can shave, Shin using the razor on Shun and then vice-versa. The brothers then finally apply body spray before going back to their room to get their outfit on.
Five minutes later, the sounds of them arguing while stumbling a bit as they got dressed heard from outside, the twins emerge from their room in black pants, a customized white dress shirt, and blazer. The brothers proceed downstairs, smelling an aroma coming from the kitchen before they see their mother making pancakes.
"Morning boys," she said with a smile on her face. "I've made you breakfast"
"Thanks mom," both boys said while sitting down for a quick meal. Despite the usual brotherly hijinks, they managed to finish their meal before proceeding to leave with book bag.
"Have a nice out, you two," their mother said as Shin and Shun head out towards school, with only a few people taking notice as their neighbors are used to seeing a two-headed boy walking down the street.
Along the way, as one of the things they have in common, Shin and Shun were in the middle of a debate on one of their favorite topics: manga.
"No way dude!" Shin said. "Minami Mitsurugi would so beat Hana Chikara in a fight."
"I would disagree," Shun said. "Minami wouldn't stand a chance against Hana."
The passion these two show in talking at no end made them great debaters. When not arguing with each other, they can effectively double-team someone in a debate. Shin and Shun soon reach a junction where they see a girl in a school uniform working for the light to turn green, the twins recognizing her as their childhood friend. Hokuto Adachi had known Shun and Shin since they were seven, the three of them used to play together with Hokuto being the first singleton outside their family to recognize them as two boys rather than one.
"Ohayo," Shin and Shun both said as Hokuto notices them.
"Ohayo," she replies as the boys approach her. "I thought you two would be ahead of me for baseball practice."
"Something came up, so practice is canceled for today," Shun explained.
"It's has been a while since we walked together to school."
"Hmm. Well," Hokuto started to say. "You two have been so focused on baseball since Junior High." The brothers both look at each other before retorting, "It's nothing like that."
"We do need to keep up our grades to continue playing," Shun started before Shin followed with, "And we would be playing if it wasn't for you."
Hokuto's family happens to live in a kendo school, Hokuto having trained in the martial art as a child. While they attended elementary school, Hokuto talked Shin and Shun into taking lessons. Despite the experience, and awkward moments that landed the brothers in trouble, Shin and Shun learned better coordination and synchronicity from the ordeal of being conked by Hokuto. Even when swinging a bat, the twins use traces of their kendo training in their Baseball ethic. Eventually, the twins and Hokuto reach the school and enter.
"Seeya both later," Hokuto said with a smile before she runs off for her homeroom class. The boys entered their homeroom and take a seat, some of their classmates being conjoined twins like themselves. One pair that got their attention are Amiko and Emiko Ichimoto, which is expected due to their car ears and tail. The boys happen to be distant cousins to Amiko and Emiko, so the four are familiar with each other as they used to play together as children. The boys take their seats as Ms. Aino enters the class room, the teacher being a two-headed woman in her late 20s.
"Good morning class," both of Ms. Aino's heads said together.
"Good morning Ms. Aino," the class replied. "We like to announce new students to the class," Aino's right head declared as her left-sided sister gestured the new student to come in.
The student is an energetic 17 year old girl with two cute-looking heads, brown eyes, and chestnut hair done in mirroring styles. They look like princesses with with the elegance of a gazelle as they approach the blackboard. The head on the right has a short ponytail tied in a ribbon, setting her apart from her left-sided twin who grabs a piece of chalk to write down their names in kanji. It read 'Kyoko Mizuki' and 'Ryoko Mizuki' with the two '-ko' circled together.
The girls then make an impression with one twin placing her hands on their hips while the other makes Peace sign. Both are grinning like cheshire cats before zestfully saying, "You can call me KoKo," in melodic voices. A while after the two talk about themselves, glancing at the older set of twins, Kyoko & Ryoko take a seat in the vacant spot in front of Shin and Shun.
The bell soon rings and everyone filters for first period, Shin and Shun making it to their math class where they will be for the next forty-minutes. Math happens to be a subject Shun enjoys as he raises his hand while helping Shin write down their notes, his brother not as passionate but benefits from being conjoined to his own math tutor. But what Shin lacks, he makes up for that in the tenacity he shares with his brother during their next class: PE.
After changing in the locker room, the twins enter the gym in a red V-neck T-shirt with red-orange trim and blue knee-long shorts. They were lined with other guys before their coach takes their group outside. The activity of the day is softball. After teams were picked, with a few double header jokes heard, the game begins with Shin and Shun showing off their skills as Ace pitcher and batter for the next forty minutes until they return to the locker room for a well-earned shower before getting back into their uniform for third period.
As Shin and Shun were playing softball, Amiko and Emiko are with the other girls in gym class in the middle of their favorite sport: tennis. Wearing a light-blue shirt with blue trimming and navy shorts, having beat some of the other girls in their class, Amiko and Emiko find themselves going up against Ryoko and Kyoko who are wearing a similar attire. Essentially a doubles match, the two sets of twins proved to be evenly matched before the Mizuki twins managed to get a tie-breaking love.
"Nice game Senpai," Ryoko and Kyoko both said together as the latter offered her hand to the Ichimoto twins who accept the handshake. Soon after, the girls all head to the locker room and get dressed for third period. By sheer coincidence, the Mizuki twins have the same next two classes as the Ichimoto twins: the first being Biology with Ryoko taking notes while showing avid interest compared to her sister. The Mizuki twins' roles are then reversed with Writing class, Kyoko being the designated note taker. As for the Ichimoto twins, they seem to be more focused on eating their boxed lunch as both are curious of what Rai and Fuu made for them.
