Memories from a summer hike 1

Watercolor 2016, Rammsjöstrand, Bjärehalvön, Sweden.
These are three paintings from a hike I did on 1st of August along the hiking trail Skåneleden. I walked from Öllövs Strand to Rammsjöstrand. The weather was mostly nice but, as you can see from the middle painting, it was unpredictable! I saw this rain coming in from far away but nevertheless I turned around far too late to avoid getting really wet. Fortunately I was prepared for it with good clothes!
I got the idea to put the butterfly on the painting when I was painting outside and a bee suddenly decided to land on one of my paintings and walk around on it. I thought that it would be fun to depict a small bug, with a close connection to the scenery, like it is walking around on each painting.
I will post some more paintings from my summer hikes later with other bugs walking around :) (Smile)
I hope you like it!

Hi Caroline! Thank you very much! It's always difficult to compose a triptych and I'm glad you like it! Love
