I remember ages ago you posted something called a Crazy OC Meme and displayed three super cool characters of yours answering questions (my favorite was the pink robot girl), and I just wanted to re-make an account to tell you that specific OC Meme was a foundational influence on how I workshopped some of my own original characters that I'm still writing with to this day! Thank you very much for the awesome artwork, and for unconsciously instilling in me a love for going really in-depth with my OCs and having fun with it : )
Oddly enough I just got two faves for a journal I wrote 13 years ago in response to your journal about donations for your kidney transplant. I don't think I remember how that worked out even. But that you are still around if not productive suggests you are at least mostly ok.
Aw hey! I’m still kickin, mostly through furaffinity and kofi and patreon. Once da kinda got into allowing ai all over, uploading felt kinda uncomfortable. I miss doing so, but also feel like it’s not smart here.
The fundraiser was a great success and I got a kidney transplant! The fundraising gave me the ability to stay in a safe, clean space for 30 days after the surgery and heal as best as I possibly could and the funds are still there should the need arise again for another transplant - sadly the organs don’t last forever but this one’s doin great.

Yes it seems a LOT of the artists I've been watching the last 20+ years have either moved to other sites, or just left period. Though I'm suddenly seeing a variety of artists I haven't seen for a long time dropping new pieces. And yes, the flood of AI garbage here isn't good. There are some AI people who have an imagination that I like, but on the whole it's garbage. Repetitious, badly done, trash. I've played with several AIs and I can't get anything nearly as good as the best; but then they tell me that they often end up compositing several pictures via various picture alteration software.
At least DA did eventually reverse their decision to opt-in all art on the site for use by the AI, not that this means anything of course; most of the AI software allows you to pick a piece of art or a photo to have the AI reinterpret. I do the 3D digital art myself and I frequently see costumes from the 3D platform in AI art for instance. A few artists whose digital art I liked went to AI which sucks, I preferred their digital characters with more imaginative poses over the AI "portrait shots" that everyone else is producing. But they did I believe opt-out all previous art and let each artist decide as they post whether they are willing to let their art be used to "train" the AI programs.
I'm glad you are doing good. I'm very glad that the community stepped up for you. I'll wish for your continued health. It's very good to hear from you. Lots of artists here I am missing.
