About time I updated this damn thing.
Went to my first comic/pop culture convention today - the Supanova Expo. Wasn't bad. Saw the Hoff. Almost bought $60 Teenage Mutant Turtle pyjama pants then decided that was insane in a not so good way.
Filmed a bit of Richard Horvitz for all you Zim fans: http://youtu.be/t3w9HmS05iY
Any guess as to which bit is MY favourite.
But just because a photo has boobies in it doesn't make it art. This isn't a stab at any piece in particular, but every now and again I've noticed a Daily Deviation that I'm pretty sure wouldn't have been given a second thought if not for the fact that it contained a hot topless chick with giant cans. Yes, I know I'm coming at this as a heterosexual female, and yes it's just the way of the world, but if it doesn't have good composition, lighting, focus, etc etc, it doesn't deserve any special attention. Hey, wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a place dedicated to the enjoyment of the naked form where artistic merit didn't matter so much?
Since my USB ports have been playing up (*kicks Vista*) I have six months of photos to catch up on. Not that I've been uber busy with the camera, bad me, but I'll work on that. In my new job, I'm working with a section of professional photographers, so I'm going to draw out as much good advice as I can.
Also, I've been involved in a couple of camera clubs, and they're loads of help. Honestly, ten minutes talking to somebody who knows their stuff is worth about six months of trying to research techniques by myself. Alas, I'm moving around again, but I'll find a club to join in my new location soon. Much recommended!
