You are eating dinner at a decent restaurant. It is not super fancy. A couple at a table 1 or 2 away has a two noisy children. Thry are incredibly loud and refuse to listen to their parents. They seem to be disturbing others.

Usually when that happens, I make faces at the children to make them laugh.

While it's true that it's incredibly irritating to have crying/yelling chilren in a restauraunt, complaining to any of the people above may not resolve anything. Like one of the comments said, it's not the workers or manager's fault. It may not even be the parent's fault. But it is the parent's responsibility. If the child is actually causing people to leave or even think about complaining, the parent should know that it is rude to the others and THEY should be the ones getting up to leave. Not us.

Considering eating at college is 100x worse, I'd just ignore it XD I'm not really too bothered about noise when eating :B

Personally, I would probably just ignore them. They aren't my children, they aren't my business to deal with, and I wouldn't intend to have any meal out to eat disturbed by a little bit like that - not when I rarely get to eat out even at a Panda Express. >.>

Probably what I would do. I do a lot of my own food making, so I don't run into it a lot either.

I'd probably tell the parents to control their little ankle biter. Seriously, if you want to eat in public as a family then swat the kid a few times. That'll shut them up. (As you can see I'm not a big fan of kids or the parents that refuse to control them)

My visual experience with people spanking or "swatting" children in public does quite the opposite of shutting them up. Then you have a screaming or crying child instead of one who is simply being noisy. And it's further embarrassment for the whole family.

I wouldn't be embarrassed for giving a punishment to a child. I see no problem with giving a consequence to someone's actions. Besides, my parents used to swat me in public for being loud and I didn't dare scream because I knew there'd be a consequence. It's part of raising a child to punish them when they don't do as they're told.

I don't ever agree with hitting a child. I don't care what they are doing. Maybe talking to them, but never "swatting" them.

My parents did that to me and people find me to be one of the most well behaved kids they've seen. The way I see it is that the problem with kids these days is that they don't see any consequence for their actions. The adults let them do whatever they please with no punishment and now you see kids going to jail and lots of other problems. It's only my opinion though and seeing I'm still in high school I probably don't know as much as other people.

Yeah, my parents did it to me too. But I lived in FEAR of my parents. I think it should be based on respect, not fear.

Anyway, to each his own. XD

I'd probably end up turning around and looking at the kids. If their right next to me they can clearly see that im giving them the "shut the fuck up" face. And ill keep staring until they shut up. Im not being mean, but if some noisy fucking kids are ruining the best thing of my life at that moment(way to lazy to leave anyway.) and their screaming for attention, well then ill just give it to them. :iconshhplz:

welp unfortunately i'd probably be at the table with the noisy children/child, since you pretty much summed up my younger brother xD we can never go out to eat because of him, no matter how many times my parents tell him to be quiet, he can't

I would ask for a to go box and pay and get outta there. :/ I don't see why you would complain to the manager or waitstaff. It's not like it's their fault.

Working at a restaurant, I know that pain :'( Some people, when noisy kids come in, pay and leave without finishing or get boxes. Me? I rant to my mom in the back about how much I want to shake them in the air by the neck. |D

When I was working at a restaurant, I felt the same thing. All of us wanted the kids to be quiet. Sometimes we fought over who would clean it after they left. e.e Those tables are always the worst.

Oh god yes. Recently there was a kid that tore up all the napkins at the table and had them everywhere

and the crumbs and food on the table. Dear god. @__@
