I do talk to you occasionally, but I guess the main reason for not talking to you is because you're popular/good at art... It kind of makes me feel a bit.. distant from you? If that makes sense? :hmm: Also because I'm shy anyway. And lack of time. :P

But if you insist... Hi! :aww:

Hm... I'm really not... "popular". XD I don't know what people call popular though lol

Well, you're more popular than me, by far. XD I'd count anyone with over 500 watchers and generally 10+ comments on each deviation as popular.

Mmm I guess I do not care much for how many watchers people have. That does not make me better than anyone because I have a higher number. I am still human and people are free to talk.

I'm always scared to converse with those with far more refined artistic talents than my own.

I don't know. I guess I figure people with a lot of fans don't have time to talk with their fans.
Humanity can sneak away as time passes... Better to check up on it often.

XD I can understand that. I do my best to talk to people who take the time to send me a message. After all, I would want people to do the same for me, so I do it for everyone else. :D

It can, I know many artists who have over time become less social. It's sad.

I feel nervous when I do Sweating a little... because since you are a professional artist I believe, and you devote a lot to it and have so many watchers, I feel quite small...

Mmm I freelance to pay my bills and such, so I guess I could be considered pro, yes. I devote myself to it since it IS what I depend on. As fae as watchers go, I depend on them too. I have many private clients I do work for on other sites. Most of the people who would order from me on dA a commission, public or private, are watchers. So having a fair amount is helpful, but it also should never be used to define success. I know people here with amazing artwork, and few watchers, yet they make a killing irl.

So please do not ever compare such things. Also consider some people collect watchers, i mean that they "offer things" if you watch them, and because people love getting free stuff, tgey do it. So often, I put little importance on stats.I just look at the art and what my reaction is to that ary since that is what really matters anyway. XD

Sounds fair Sweating a little... you have so much experience with this... I myself am trying to become a freelancer as well and I'm struggling to do so, my art isn't that good and I'm no professional yet, plus I am not popular among artists, I still have so much to go and live from what I do, I admire that from you.

Freelancing is very hard. I am lucky enough to have people think I handle the Okami style decently. That helps too. Finding sonething not offered often, thn finding the right crowd to offer it too is always super helpful.

My best advice is to look at what YOU do best naturally. Work on that strength and make it marketable. For instance my gravity toward an inky style. Im learning to "mimic" looks of art style that use ink so that I can offer art to people who love that style. Lots of people love the asian ink look. So it is natural people want to order it. XD

I hope that helps?

Mwahahaha.. xD

I'm totally the opposite of shy on the internet, but real life is a completely different story. @_@ It's frustrating sometimes. I'm breaking out of my shell just a tad by doing livestreams with my mic on. I dunno I need anti-anxiety meds or something :|

What am I up to...... Well I'm at work buried in crappy work but putzing around on DA instead of working . Hooray procrastination!! :D

Hi long time no see. I've been on and off for literally ages now. I have barely any time to draw and it pisses me off, quite frankly. In this month alone, my parents have announced their divorce and my precious bby bun died (hhhh i miss his little fluffy butt so much) and I'm stressed and it's just all around bad-ness. Sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you, really I just would not have been good company at all, and I definitely hate to dump my emotional baggage on others, so yeah. Whoops.

Nonono, this poll was done out of pure curiosity. XD I am not complaining about anything by posting it. I got a note from someone and our discussion mentioned being nervous to speak to a "great artist". XD I did not think so many felt that way.

I am sorry for your life turning on you. My parents divorced when I was 8, so I understand the feels. ;_;

yeah, life's a little shit sometimes. I'm also at that terrible stage in art where you're really close to being good, but not good enough, so everything you do just enrages you and yeah it's not fun and I get agitated when i draw hhhhh i just want to like skip this stage in art development.

and yeah, you are  a pretty great artist ;)

Mmmm i find plataeus can be made better by trying new mediums, styles, etc. Usually people stop improving because they settle into a look or style. By always changing, you always improve. Try that and maybe it could help.

I do not feel great. Maybe the potential is there, but I am unsure if it is my future to be so.

I talk to people if I can think of something worthwhile to say(not often;P), otherwise I'm usually think I'm bothering people ^^;
