My Bio

Writer of fantasy/sci-fi worldbuilding project, "Kelacao: Worlds Away." I do what I do when I do what I do.

I do not condone insurrectionists, nor do I condone far-right policies. Condemnation to whomever seeks to bar the impoverished, the innocent, the vulnerable, and the oppressed from basic health and safety.

I do not stand for fascism.

Post Spotlight

Featuring Great DeviantArtists, 2026, Part I by Neiot, journal

The 60s film "Harakiri" directed by Masaki Kobayashi may be the most powerful classic Japanese film I had ever witnessed. I cannot put into words the emotional impact I was left with after my first viewing. I had to view it twice to digest it in its full glory. Japanophile, please, watch this film.

For my Watchers: a casual reminder that I am on Bluesky. It is the better alternative to Twitter. There is not a lot of noise there and it is easier to keep track of who you follow. For those of you who are artists, you can find a place on there - artists are treated with kindness and respect on Bluesky(generally). It is unlikely it will remain this way for long, but until the internet does internet things and silly little humans flood in with vitriol, so far, Bluesky is a comfortable safe haven. The "Haiya-sa-sa!" chant often featured in traditional and contemporary Okinawan music ("Eisa songs") is a historical thing. Fishermen in Okinawa would shout this while working to remain awake at their jobs and to hype themselves up for the catch. It was adapted by Taiko drummers as a festive shout! [VIDEO]

It is never an inappropriate time to tell an artist what you like about their work. A lot of time and effort goes into it. Let them know you care. Positive feedback is fuel. Constructive feedback is maintenance.
