An Encounter with the Devil
The trees crackled as the blazing inferno surrounded him. He was trapped! His eyes darted back and forth hoping that by some miracle he could escape, but it was ultimately futile, he was entombed by the demonic flames which inched closer and closer. The voices were screaming out in agony all around him now. He could feel the smoke stinging his eyes and creeping into his lungs as the smell of burning flesh began its assault on his nostrils. He tried to call out, but the atrocious aroma caused him to retch, spilling bile onto the parched ground. The fluid began to boil almost instantly, further adding to the rancid smell. The flames were upon him now, he could feel his fur singeing from the intensity alone. His senses were completely overwhelmed now, his tears evaporating from his eyes, clenched shut. All he could do was wait for the end…
