Just posted a public update on my Patreon page about the changes they're bringing to the platform and how that makes me intensely nervous about using the site in the future even though I am grandfathered in with the current site settings:
It looks like Patreon is about to be making some pretty significant changes to how their site hosts people creating things. I think I'm going to be grandfathered in with the "Patreon Pro" plan but the fees they take out will be changing slightly. Those changes may negatively impact how much of your donations I get but I may be safe.
From what I'm reading the changes will affect folks who make a Patreon page after a certain date this year, so folks who already have one are safe. However, this sort of drastic change makes me VERY wary of using the site in the long term for the future.
I may be looking more heavily into other options in the future, such as Gumroad, but will keep maintaining my Patreon page as best I can for the time being since I would have next to no monthly income without your support.
I will keep y'all updated as to how things go.
Thank you again for supporting my Patreon page!
