Yes, I'm Star Trek fan.

No, I don't have pointed ears (no matter how much I would like them!).
No, I don't wear the right uniform (that means - any colour except of red).
No, I don't have anything set on "paralyze".

but

I raise my eyebrow while saying "Fascinating."

Second generation Trekker here (thanks mom) as well as a second gen Scifi geek, third gen book dragon, third gen artist, and the first fiction writer in my family (that I know of) along side being a 4th generation story teller (going back to my great grandfather at least).  Yeah, I'm a lifetime geek/nerd and proud of it.  XD

I didn't find it when I was searching for ST quotes - so no overgrown elf on this stamp, I'm afraid :( But I'm pleased that you like the stamp enough for using it in your journal!

It's from Episode 25: "This Side Of Paradise" (1966)...

"Spock, Captain Kirk (William Shatner), Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Sulu (George Takei), and a couple of crewmen beam down to Omicron Ceti III hoping to find out what happened to a group of scientists who built a research colony on the planet. What they discover is a little spooky. The self-satisfied colonists claim they've created a true paradise where no one has needs or wants, where no one ages or gets sick, and everyone is part of a collective mind bent on positivity. Kirk, naturally, argues that paradise robs men of their need to suffer and crawl toward progress. Meanwhile, Spock is zapped by an exotic flower that is the real source of all this community goodwill, and he instantly gets happy--acting like a kid, renewing a romance with a comely biologist (an angelic Jill Ireland), and giving the sputtering Kirk an earful of entertaining insubordination."

...Anyway, eventually Kirk figures out that the plant spores cannot tolerate dark emotions, so he gets Spock to beam up and proceeds to insult him. Among the typical 'half breed' and 'computer' insults is the overgrown elf one. I actually never noticed it before about two days ago when I was watching the episode again. I think I nearly died laughing!

Oh, and there's always the "I am not Herbert" Spock quote from Episode 75: "The Way to Eden"...

Have I proven myself as a Trekkie yet... :paranoid:

Hm, This side of Paradise... have to look for this episode. It's quite long since I saw TOS. They aren't showing it here in the TV anymore :(

I remember that once I've read quite interesting thing - that quite a few of trekkie has several good moments with Spock caharacter - and those moments are usually the ones when Spock is not acting like a Vulcan. Fox example the episode "Amok Time". In the end Spock is smilling. And yeah, it's one of my favourite moments :blushes:

I have to confess, I have the entire series on DVD, as well as Next Generation and Voyager. I'm a hopeless Trekkie!!! :crying:

I just saw Amok Time the other day! It's so cute when Spock gets all happy to see Kirk. :aww:

I've been watching Star Trek since I was a little kid and I always had the biggest crush on Spock! :giggle:

Oh, and if you haven't seen them, I have a whole collection of Star Trek emotes I've been making. There's now a Star Trek folder in my gallery for them and anything else Trekkie I make. :paranoid:

Well, our whole family (means "me, brother and parents") were watching every series the TV showed - TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise. But the TV stopped showing them :(

Luckily, we have several films (well, MOST of the films) recorded on VHS, so we can watch them when we please! I think I'll watch Search for Spock one more time :D

Hm, folder of trekkie works? I'm going to take a look, then!

Nice but "Scotty, beam me up." isn't a real Star Trek quote. The closest thing to it would be: "Scotty, beam us up." :)

not true! lol. In one ep. Kirk says "beam me up Scotty!" scotty didn't beam him up and kirk said "scotty, now would be a good time!" and then, he got beamed up.
i dont remember the name of the ep., but i know it happened. it was the first star trek ep. i ever saw.
Sorry, but I'm a rabid fan girl trekkie. i can get picky.

Sounds like 'the Doomsday Machine'. Kirk is stranded on Decker's derelic ship. Kirk has Scottie rig the engines to blow when the robot is close enough to eat it.

Spock: Are you sure your circuits are registering?
Your turning green.
Later Norman says:'illogical. You are human only humans can explain.
Kirk: 'I am not programmed to respond in that area.
episode: 'I Mudd'

It's possible - I'm not telling otherwise. sometimes I just have problem with original quotes, since I've never seen original dubbing - just the Czech one.
