Hope you've all been well!
So the most pressing question a bunch of you have had is, when is v.0.3 coming out?
Short answer, no idea. Long answer, still no idea.
The good news is, I've felt much better these last few days (both physically and mentally), and I've started posing Sparrow again. Further good news is, while I haven't done as much work on PoS as I would've liked, I *have* been planning things out. The first Quest is all planned out from start to finish, the new Jobs are mostly figured out now, and I've been thinking of new little minigames to introduce. Keep things fresh, you know?
Now for the other thing about v.0.3. The major pain in the ass with my updates is that I add so many fun new things, but they end up breaking shit in your old saves. These old saves then end up becoming useless and causing bugs/crashes. So when I say I don't know when v.0.3 is coming out, it's also because I'm going to take extra time to add more stuff in there, so there are fewer updates overall.
My original idea was to make like five or six more updates, but that's five or six more times that I'll break your saves and annoy you. "But Neehko, just toss in all the code NOW so you won't break shit LATER!" Plans change, unfortunately. I might like an idea today, and then hate it later (or change the hell out of it). So the current roadmap for Perils of Sparrow is as follows:
- v.0.3, The Professional Update. This will include all remaining Jobs, the first two Quests, and some Reputation stuff.
- v.1.0, The Sparrow Update. Adds the last three Quests to finish the story, romance options, expands Reputation to include dirty smutty shit, maybe a fun non-Job thing. This version should be Save-friendly going forward.
- v.1.1, adds content for bad endings (if you're enslaved then you get to live out the life of a slave, if you're vored then you get to linger until fully digested, if you're kidnapped by the stalker then you get to live out your life chained to a bed, etc).
- v.1.2, I'll leave this open in case we come up with fun ideas in the coming months. Maybe they'll even break you saves again! We'll see!
And there you have it. At least three more updates until Perils of Sparrow is truly finished. And as I've said before, this project will be my swan song before retiring from DA for good. But first, we've got an adorable thiefgirl in peril to attend to
'Til next time!
