Dear Members,

I looked at the blog and realized I hadn't sent out a journal since January! But in case you haven't noticed, the group is still alive and well! I just wanted to check in with you all and see if you were interested in more community projects, contests, or themed folders. Maybe a summer folder?

If anyone has any news or comes across any sewing related projects/contests, shoot me a link or write a blog about it! As always, we're also happy to put out requests for help if you ever have any! And the group is ALWAYS open to suggestions, so if you've got any, let me know!

Hope you all have been doing well!

Help Request: KiusLady
(Please see the first comment below for the full post)

KiusLady is looking for some help drafting a skirt, if you have any suggestions, please note her!

"I'm currently planning a floor-length seven tiered ruffle skirt (with the tops of the ruffles hidden in the seam, not just sewn to the outside of the support skirt).
Certainly if there's anyone within the group with advice on taking on such a task, I'm open to suggestions.
I've already researched the equations I'll need to figure the curves of the support fabric so at this point it's just a matter of figuring out if I want an a-line skirt or a full circle look."

But only if you have a facebook account (which *some* people choose not to have ;) )

I don't use the facebox, and was able to enter on their website without issue.

Interesting cos their rule said they had to be able to use facebook - might have misread them :/

Crazy! Well how fun! Thanks for sharing, I'll add that to the journal.

Am still here, trying to write back to as many Deviants as possible because of my #9 Doctor Who cross stitch. It's been such a roller coaster ride and it's been favoured by so many that am quite overwhelmed by the response.

:D Aw! So glad to hear your work is getting some good attention! I can't remember if I dropped a note, but I was excited to see it receive a DD. If I didn't message you, congrats!

Hello! Glad to hear you're still around! (:

I'm fine with the way the group is right now. A themed, summer folder might be pretty neat! Hope you're having a great week!

:D I've just been so busy with my senior semester of school, it's been hard to do as much on dA. And Needles has always been more self-sufficient than some of the other groups I run, so it got a bit shafted in the shuffle. :/

Thanks for your input on a summer folder and I am having a good week! Hope you are as well!

OOoohhhh yeah, that is a busy time of the year! I gave up dA completely the year I graduated lol. I hope it works out for you and congratulations on getting through school!!!

You're welcome and I am! Today's my birthday so can't go wrong with that! XD
Glad to hear you are too!

I'm still fairly new to this group but I have to say I love it immensely!
The quality of work and the helpful tutorials are so great! :)
I'm currently planning a floor-length seven tiered ruffle skirt (with the tops of the ruffles hidden in the seam, not just sewn to the outside of the support skirt). A friend sent me some links to vintage pattern sites (which I'll be happy to share if there's interest here); I haven't gone through the sites thoroughly yet, but I have a feeling I'll be drafting the pattern from scratch.
Certainly if there's anyone within the group with advice on taking on such a task, I'm open to suggestions.
I've already researched the equations I'll need to figure the curves of the support fabric so at this point it's just a matter of figuring out if I want an a-line skirt or a full circle look. Whatever I end up going with, I *will* be documenting the process and sharing it here :)

I'm going to add your request to this blog, so hopefully you will get some suggestions!
