[Custom Paralogos] Tarot - Death Card

I'm v v glad Iron approached me for this kid, the theme is absolutely my jam & it was tons of fun to work on!!!
There are a lot of meanings in this design & if there is one thing I love doing, it's smushing meanings in designs! haha
Oh also this was my first time drawing a horse!! funky anatomy, I love them

Death (XIII) is the 13th trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks.
Upright meaning: Change, Endings (and new beginnings that follow) and Transformation & transitions.
Inverse meaning: Stagnation, Permanent ends and Resistance to or inability to change.

For this design, I mainly referenced the Rider-Waite version of the card - as requested by Iron.
The Paralogos design itself is based on the dark rider, with a skull face marking and the iconic flag as a fin.
I chose a half white half black rose for the symbol: white roses symbolize new beginnings (like the upright meaning) and black roses stand for ends/death (like the inverse card).
The back markings are flame-like and can move via tier 1 magic. They symbolize the transformation and transition of the upright meaning but also the general bivalence of the [endings] meaning.
Since flames can both destroy and offer warmth & safety.
The arms and legs are close to bare (stagnation), the white at the toes/fingers signifying the permanent end (inverse meaning).
The Paralogos is holding a scythe with a Paralogos skull on it, since scythes are another reoccurring theme in Death Card designs and skulls are good.
They also wear armor, just like the skeleton in the Rider-Waite design.

They have a horse companion that is just big enough to be ridden by them.
The horse is close to pure white since that's how Death's horse is generally portrayed.
