Word about the pink woods, missing Pokémon, harvest spirits, and the myriad of other things had drifted to other parts of the woods and beyond. A slightly more worried and caring group heard of what was going down, and headed out to inspect what the previous group had completely neglected. Vale, Roman, and Vale had gathered up and headed out towards the forest of pink blossoms and berries.
“It doesn’t last THAT long,” Vera said as the party made their way down the road, sitting on the back of Roman so she wouldn’t slow the party down with her short, stubby legs. “But it was quite the nice shade of pink. Really tasty, too!” She exclaimed, wiggling her feet.
“Oh, I hope there are some left so I can try one,” Vale exclaimed, craning her neck over to her smaller friend.
Roman yawned. “I’m sure there will be. Let’s not get lost in there too though… as nice as a place like this sounds,” she said, feeling her stomach rumble at the thought of food. “Though I have no problem spending some time to eat and nap before we leave…”
Vale bounced her head. “We can do that, but first,” she held up one of her claws as she slithered along, “we need to try to find the missing Pokémon. That is the main reason we’re here. The berries are a bonus.”
Vera nodded, as much as the hybrid could nod. She sniffed the air, before wiggling her feet and tail. “We’ve got to be getting closer! Can’t you smell the sweet scent?”
“You’re only just now smelling that-“ Roman asked, craning her neck to look back at her passenger. Vera pouted, but just patiently waited until, at last the woods came into view.
Roman had only taken a few steps into the woods before she flopped down in a pile of pink petals. Vera rolled off of her back, jumping excitedly in the petals. “This place is beautiful!”
Vale nodded in agreement, lifting herself up to slither into a tree to get a look around. “The berries have all been eaten out of this area though, as expected. We’ll have to go deeper into the woods. I’m sure the Pokémon that are lost have wandered back there too, or they wouldn’t still be lost.” She slithered back down, before carefully picking up Roman and setting the lazy psychic type back onto her feet. Roman pouted, but started to walk once more. Vera toddled after her at her side.
“How far do you think we’ll have to go?” Vera asked curiously, taking a look around at the trees as they walked.
“Probably a little ways, but at least it will be a nice and easy walk. I’m sure we can find things to eat around too if we really need to,” Vale replied, smiling.
“I can’t imagine there is anything dangerous in these woods anyways,” Roman muttered, glancing around at the pink stretches of forest in every direction.
The party wandered in relative silence for a while. The trees grew thicker and clustered a bit closer, but small clusters of berries began to show up on trees as they passed. They decided to wait till leaving to pick up berries, so they wouldn’t get caught up just eating and getting nothing done. And soon enough, they heard faint singing…. And the group came to a clearing, which was not devoid of other Pokémon.
Vale, Roman and Vera stopped, awkwardly looking at each other before looking at the Cherrim, the Cherubi, and the Celebi. Vale looked between all of them as the Cherubi ran to hide behind the Cherrim, which caused a frown from the wyrm. “A-ah, I’m sorry! I hope we haven’t barged in on anything-“ She stammered, putting her hands up to her mouth.
The Celebi glanced back and forth, before drifting forward to speak to the Pokémon who had accidentally wandered in, before explaining to them what was going on.
Vera jumped up and wiggled her feet. “Oh, she needs to sleep?” the small Pokémon exclaimed. She turned and looked at Roman and Vale. “You two can help her, right?”
Vale smiled, before carefully approaching the flower Pokémon. The Cherrubi rushed before the Cherrim, shaking their leaves angrily at the hybrid. Vale frowned, before carefully trying to slither past them. They made angry chirping, but timidly parted for the much larger Pokémon. Roman followed after her, and Vera at the back. Vale flopped down next to the Cherrim, propping herself up before she opened her mouth and started to sing.
The Dragonair/Clefable/Nidorina’s beautiful, soft voice drifted through the woods, echoing gently. The Cherrim listened, swaying her head a little bit. Roman flopped down next to them, before yawning. The Cherrim started to look sleepy, before leaning back and covering themselves with their petals. Vale continued to sing softly until the Cherrim had been asleep for plenty of time… which also resulted in many of the Cherubi falling fast asleep with their leaders as well.
The Celebi thanked them, and the three left the clearing as quietly as they could so they wouldn’t wake the finally sleeping Pokémon. They all agreed that they had helped and done something good that day, and that it was probably time to head back. Vera had wanted to hang out for a bit longer, but if they wanted to explore more they could do it another time. The three carefully moved away from the clearing, circling the area to collect some berries to bring home to their companions who hadn’t come along for the adventure. By the time that the trio had gotten to the edge of the woods, they each had turned a very lovely shade of pink (albeit Roman hadn’t changed a ton since she was half pink to begin with.) The party took their time to head back, glad they had helped out the poor Pokémon in the woods. Unsure of if that was one of the missing Pokémon or not, the party agreed to return at a later date.
