oh dont get me wrong , i don't cringe away from it or fear it in any form. i just prefer it followed by a definitive context
in this case matt had a written that aphrodite was to be scanned in detail and analyzed. nudity seemed logical to me even if it was not specifically asked. or really yknow..shown XD
but i had a deeper reason... my art history driven symbolism itch was strong in this one. i really wanted to do a shot that mimics Renaissance works of aphrodite/venus standing on a seashell...
so for one rare moment i actually had enough of a reason to go for nudity here
now waiting for a sex scene to pop our..muahahah XD cause in the meanwhile will be dressed in battlegear kicking asses of robots cyborgs mutants and all sorts of beasts
But the idea and hommage are cute and well executed. And with the slightly creepy ghostly green scan results on the other half it's also not too obviously gratuitous...
Quite nicely done! I appreciate Aphrodite's trepidation at disrobing and the detachment of the technician.
I've sort of have gotten to the same point, but I'm a lot less partial. I can understand nudity in say a strip club, a roman bath, a brothel of some sort, or an obvious sex scene assuming you must have either of those in whatever story you're doing. It pretty much comes with the territory, but I can't stand it under any other context since it along mostly with overt sex appeal have been done to death so far as I've seen in general (be it movies, games, comics, or whatever). Older viewers (hek older isn't even really so much the case for me anyway) have seen it all before and then some even when they probably don't expect it (which is what really gets me). That doesn't mean don't make women sexy or beautiful (either I think are alright as long as it isn't every other female character) or beyond. It just means don't abuse it especially when you don't have to.
A cool piece of art, love the cool fullbody x-ray scan, the machinery and the character's expressions. Even if there's no dialogue, the images speak a lot. Also, good use of symbolism here, those who know the painting will realize quickly (she seems to be in a similar pose to the painting, too). It's a good idea to put a symbol like that in such a sci-fistic work, really gives it depth.
I always thought that guy just ripped off your style and wasn't quite as good, but recently saw the mermaids picture from that account (it was on front page- popular in last 8 hours) and noticed the artist name and country was the same.
You are one of my favorite artists ever, but that other account is a bit weird for me, hah!
ANYWAY. I too agree with an above commenter. Xray effect well done!
