well by popular demand here is a small tut, is not the spanking new as job has me a lil occupied but it will do , this is a dinosaur or dragon scale creation

This is a T-Rex, those dinosaur species does not have feathers like other dinosaurs.

While there isn't enough proof, it's thought T-Rex was only partly covered in feathers.

Thanks man this was really useful to me, but i dont have a program that lets me paint in embossed brush layer so i have to rely on paintbrushes and color burns alone man, i think i did ok though

It is very important to play around with things like Blending Options/Layer FX in Photoshop. PS can render some awesome stuff and save you a lot of work while making things look cool. :D

Nice tutorial, one of those that point out what really helps!

Tanks, a very helpfull tutorial. Just one question left. How do you manage to merge the layers and prevent the styles so they are not getting mixed up with the different layer settings?
