oh...guess you don't know the world turtle thats only mention in the novel.
in the novel, the kids had to battle with IT using the ritual of chud, pass down by the world turtle when bill contacted the turtle through a spiritual drug trip (they did some indian tent smoke thing)
just google "IT turtle" they will show you the story thats never covered in the movies and miniseries.
OK! I WILL! I wonder why they never add the original concept in stories, they really need to stop making these sorry excuses for not making the story 110% legit. Yes creative freedom, just don't frekein rewrite the whole story! I watched IT when I was little ( aha ha hasdfgvbnm ) and it was scary but a fun scary. I wonder though how good the new one is, and if it's straight up horror or good old "boys go out and kill evil clown monster in korcky boy troop go!" (kinda like Stranger things WHICH I AM DEING TO SEE SEASON 2!!! )
because the original concept was about elder gods and world creation mythos.
"IT" and the turtle are actually elder gods that were form before the creation of the universe, the turtle being the creator while "it" being the destroyer/consumer of worlds.
they never put this into the miniseries or movie(BUT, the 2017 movie foreshadowed alot of turtle references, like the lego turtle bill held and drop onto the floor and other brief easter-eggs) to prevent general audience from taking in too much of this ideas..
we do hope the IT sequel dwells into the turtle mythos and bill using the ritual of chud to really kill "IT"
IIRC, there was also the matter of budget. Rendering the "sweatlodge" scene and doing it and the Ritual of Chüd justice would have cost a significant amount of money, so they opted to save it for the sequel.
