Damn, it's been two months since the last feature ! I've been veeeeeery busy ...
How is everybody tonight ? I hope your holidays are awesome ! Mine are supposed to be filled with studies ... Yay ... +
First of all, I wish you a Merry Christmas ! (A little bit late, yay ^^') I hope this day was filled with gifts, family reunions, and a lot of good meals !
In a few days will come a new year ... Any good resolution ? (I don't know if there's a better translation ... ) Tell me !
What will you do, during the New Year's Eve ? Talk to me
I'm supposed to go to a costume party, with a funny theme : cute thing or undeads
Any idea ?
I already wrote a feature about her, but I would like to talk about the new project of Gingershots
: a 365 days project ! Each day, she will upload a photo and tell about her life, how she felt about her day, etc etc. This is a really interesting way to improve her photography skills, and if it can help her to meet people, that's an awesome thing ! Go go !
It's now time for the fifth feature ! There is something I really like on dA : you can meet people from all around the earth. No matter how far are people, you can talk to them, without any limitations ! (And you can even meet them, sometimes
) The artist I will talk about comes right from Estonia, a little European country, near Finland. But she loves to travel, and I love to travel in a surrealistic world watching her work ! Ladies and gentlemen, here comes Kechake
Tell us more about you (Age, profession, etc) ?
I'm nineteen years young and after graduating from high school with very good exam results, I decided to pack just one suitcase and move to England to find myself.
How did you start photography ?
Less than a year ago, in February 2010, I bought my first camera - a Zenit-B (which completely ruined my first film). Later my best friend let me borrow his Nikon D40 and I started exploring around with it (including asking my classmate to pose in thick snow while wearing a wedding dress). This is where it all started, and without him I would never be where I am right now.
What does mean the word "photography" for you, and what is your opinion about photo editing process ? (Do they distort reality that is supposed to be shown on the photos, etc)
Photography is all I ever want, and all I will ever be. It's the art of capturing beauty and emotion. It's the moment when the camera becomes a part of your mind and inspiration becomes true.
Photo editing has an imporant role in my art as I "see in colours" when I'm shooting. They give the image a whole new feeling; for example, yellow is all about happiness while purple indicates dark, hidden feelings.
What is the best memory about a shot you took ?
It's probably the ever-glorious Strings of Sorrow kechake.deviantart.com/art/Str…
which took place in winter at seaside near an abandoned house. It was very cold and the model was barely wearing anything so my friends made a fire in the house's fireplace. It was also the day when my violin started working (after we'd forgotten it in the snow for a few minutes) and when everything was born again; all the hibernated ideas in my mind and the endless flow of inspiration.
If you had to choose one of your pictures, which one would it be ? Why ? (Well, If you have been a good girl, you can even choose up to three
She is everything a man should love and fear.
Apart from the photography, do you practice another form of art ? Or maybe another non-artistic activity you would like to talk about?
I do photomanipulations. They're quite fun!
Basically, it's cutting out different photos and blending them together for a nice result with additional objects and textures. Right now it's a small source of income as I do a lot of commissions for other photographers. But I'm also looking forward to taking my photography to the next level - photomanipulations made of entirely my own photos, so that I wouldn't have to rely on others and cry because of wrong angles and lighting conditions, haha!
What or whom are you inspired by ? Any artist you would talk about ?
I'm inspired by Nirrimi Hakanson, especially by her words.
"I've learnt that to make dreams come true, you have to be obsessed. Truly, utterly obsessed."
These words erased all my doubts about my future, and I jumped headfirst in.
What advice would you give to somebody who would like to start photography ?
It's important to be constantly working and wandering, no matter how good your skills are. Heck, even if you don't know how to photograph a certain idea, sketch the project and realize it later.
Also, good lens and a good camera don't make you a good photographer. What does is your style and the way of capturing your inspiration.
So don't think. Shoot.
Could you tell us about the groups you own or some you like ? #BeauteNaturelle
is definitely my favourite, as it combines everything I love - natural beauty and nature!
The last question is all yours, say what you want as an answer!
I'm in a relationship with food!
Another photomanip' I would like to feature, mainly because it features another artist I love, PrincessAndDragon
