Sweet lady Autumn
Her perfume is a forest that's getting renewed.
Her touch will shiver my spine.
As I walk solo through nature, just Autumn by my side,
For that single moment she's all mine.
Her dress so bright, a colorful haze,
A breath of fresh air through my hair.
She may change her looks in a couple of months,
But for now I adore our affair...
Rain to wash my soul
Water falling on my face, I close my eyes.
I let the rain clean my head, my thoughts, my mind.
No umbrella, no protection, let me get wet.
For a fleeting moment leaving my problems behind.
My brain gets fresh, my troubles weak,
I tremble joyful in the storm.
Nature's shower washes my inner me,
Drizzles my soul, re-shapes my form.
The last day of November
we listened to classical music
you were reading
and I was pretending to understand
but really, I was lost in my thoughts.
The first day of December
you said winter finally arrived
I just nodded, thinking of colours.
I remembered my days
at the willow tree, listening
to the rustling of her leaves
as she whispered her poetry
into my eager ears,
never enough time to write them down.
That same afternoon
I decided to learn violin
in hopes I would finally be able
to catch her words
and replicate her melody
but by the time I learnt
her leaves fell.
I lay in the snow
staring at her empty branches
waiting for her to sing again,
when I realised learning violin
was useless because she
had lost her voice.
Congregation of Trees - A Nature Anthology
The linden tree is at home in Europe. Among the Germans and the Slavs, the linden was considered a sacred tree. It stands for - in contrast to the oak - femininity, loveliness, fertility, the summer, cheerfulness, beauty and love. In the past, there used to be a large, wide-spreading lime tree in the center of the village, used as a "dancing linden" for weddings or as a court tree. Many places, surnames, restaurants are named for this tree. Its healing powers can be experienced directly in its vicinity, but also in the linden blossom honey and the tea infusion of the flowers, which helps against colds. Even after wars it was remembered and people planted so-called 'peace lindens'.
In the village the linden
Each night of overcast protection
When the air is filled with coastal haze,
Light of fair orb’s rising reflection
Is seeking while hidden from my gaze.
She graces each day, ev’ry ev’ning,
Hoping notes of my love she will find.
Sending tears of stars while believing,
Praying for my words the sweet’st kind.
I peer in the mist for my ember,
As my thoughts tell her listen be still.
On nights you think I won’t remember,
But of course, dear child, I always will.
My love, Moon’s affection, I’ve missed you
As the tides in me still ebb & flow.
How can I cease doing what’s nat’ural
While your Mother’s embrace tells me so?
For until there’s nothing left to scribe,
Till the restless tides give in, and die.
a rooftop heartbeat
coursing from a cosmic vein
pitter pats and petrichor
proving we're alive
heavens blood on your lashes
vital puckers to your flesh
syncopated arrangements on leaves
a deluge of murmurs
tickle the dirt
