Broken (draft, unfinished, WIP)
As unpredictable as the Doe Brothers have the reputation of, this day seemed as normal as any other. It was Tuesday, and on Tuesdays the brothers had a few special errands to run. Some errands were as simple as taking the trash to the landfill. Others were full grocery lists of special items the folks requested for the week.
Alarms now sounding off, James and Arny peel open their eyes and slowly drag themselves out of bed, skip out on brushing teeth and heading straight for the bacon in the fridge on an autopilot path. The boys always wake their younger sister up with bacon and eggs, it's her favorite.
Tying his hair back in a pony-tail James then throws his white apron on. He looks semi-professional and Arny cracks a joke,
"Usin' Leana's hair pins again?"
He says this almost every morning. If he doesn't say this, then something is usually wrong in the air.
"Reckon it's better than buyin' more. I'll give you extra hair to floss with."
James usually mutters something like
