THE WALKING DEAD -pencils by nathanscomicart THE WALKING DEAD -pencils by nathanscomicart
THE WALKING DEAD -(1936) with Boris Karloff.

I'm doing up a convention sketchbook called "MONSTERS MAIDENS & MAYHEM" :evillaugh:which will comprise of old Hollywood B-Movies and Monster movie posters from the 30's through the 60's.
I absolutely love the artwork and poster designs that they used for those. Hopefully you guys will like my take on them as well.

I'll be putting the project up on kickstarter.com in the next few weeks once everything's finished. An amazing site for artists projects a buddy referred me to. So here's sample of one of the first pages in the sketchbook.
This one, along with a few other pages, will be digitally painted for the final version. But I wanted to show the pencil version before it's painted.

Very pleased with how this one turned out. Let me know what you guys think.:w00t: Go zombies and cute girls!

Fantastic linework, but kind of sexualised... -__- If it weren't for the wrongness of her boobs it'd be absolutely terrific. The creepy guy in the background still looks pretty cool though.

"the wrongness of her boobs?":sherlock: Not too sure what that means but I like the sound of it!

Lol. I just mean that boobs don't work that way. The heavy lines down the outsides make it look like there's a large amount of overhang, but she isn't wearing aaany support. Boobs without support don't look that perky or round, excluding ones with plastic surgery... Also, they're really huge. Like, the same size as her face huge. This bothers me :P Mine are bordering on being that large (who am I kidding, they're enormous) and so I know having boobs that large you just CANNOT get away without wearing a proper bra without causing significant back pain... :/
So yeah, reality suuucks and ruins my appreciation of slutty comic girls

Okay,:nod:now I get what ya mean. But I still really like the phrase "the wrongness of her boobs"
And you're totally right about them, but let's say for arguments-sake that whatever mystical power that made the zombie behind her rise from the grave, is also preventing the laws of gravity from taking effect on her large boobs(although it does look as though she's had boob, cheek-bone, and calf implants put in).=p
So that being said, suspend reality for just one second, and enjoy the magic of funny-books were zombies can roam free and beautiful busty women can walk around without proper bra support.:woohoo:
Thanks again for your comments. I found them seriously AWESOME "Mine are bordering on being that large (who am I kidding, they're enormous)":icondizzy-plz: and entertaining/helpful!:icongrin--plz:

Ahahah xD Her cheekbones look fine, simply a broader facial structure (plus it sort of emphasises a cartoony style, so that works out well.) Calves--well, I see what you mean here, but then I know it's fairly hard to actually emphasise placement of muscles without it looking weird sometimes. It's only noticeable if you look? |D And Chuck Pires did a good job of minimising that with his colouring and drawing more attention to the things you did right. :iconiloveitplz:

And lol, people on the internet are always like "asdfjkl; you only comment negatively on huge boobs in the pic coz ur jelusss and flat-chested and ugly!" but I just want to respond with "uhh, no man. |D See these? They're real. You're the jealous one." I don't mind appreciation of the female form, I just wish it varied a little more than it does, so I wouldn't have to feel like girls are targeted in comics by guys like that...! It makes me feel pretty self-conscious of my own body. Which is stupid. I come for the arse-kicking action, not body image reminders! But looking through your gallery, you know how to make female characters look fun or sexy without massive boobs every single time (and you're not a huge offender of Rubber Spine Syndrome either) so you're already better than the majority of male comic artists |D
Ooh, but if you're interested, for further boob-fail related hilarity see this.

Thanks again for the cool comments,:highfive: and yeah, Chuck's coloring worked beautifully with this piece.
So I went over to that "Boob-fail" site and wow... :giggle:There are some odd:-O and spooky lookin' things going on over there(and not in a good way).:iconoo-plz: Thank you for the laugh.=p

I have no idea what people are thinking sometimes:disbelief:(Correction, I don't know what GUYS are thinking sometimes.) And yes, I fall into that same :stupidme:"Moronic" category too, where upon seeing big boobs in the real world, we instantly revert back to that mentality of a Junior High School kid who's giggling and pushing his friend into the bushes(*Seinfeld -standup line). But ya gotta draw the line(pun intended) some where or things start lookin' reeeeeally weird reeeeeally quick.:wtf:Those artist should be focusing all their efforts into making the faces look better, 'cause if that's not workin', nothing else really matters.

Lastly, be proud of the AWESOME person you are, and don't let the online hatters get you down. I guarantee you that if they ever saw or had to talk to a woman in the "real world" they'd be absolutely terrified.
Thanks again for the great comments and the funny site. Look forward to seeing more of your fun DA work in the future.:icongrin--plz:

Lol yeah that site is a lot of fun xD;;
Haha, I wouldn't brand that as moronic! Just a natural reaction. ;D It can be pretty flattering to a girl. But yeah, I guess that sort of thing is what makes up the difference between a stereotypical sort of comic artist and an amazing one: the ability to not remain constricted by stereotypes and appealing to a perceived type of audience, being able to move past that and make kick-arse characters. In particular, ones who can be appealing without compromising their apparent self-respect; who don't stand up to pose to imagined cameras, but to fight~!
/end determined feminist rant |D
D'awww, thank you! xDD I shall~! I'll keep an eye out for your work too, see how you go in the future xD
