Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light

A short lived toy line and cartoon from Hasbro and Sunbow Productions. I liked the animated show back in the day and I still like it today. Only 13 episodes were made.

The character show here is Cindarr, one of the
evil Darkling Lords. He is summoning forth the "Power of Destruction" from his Staff.
In order to summon the creature he would have to say:
"By nature's hand, by craft, by art; what once was one now fly apart!"

There was a dozen of short lived animated series back in the 80s tried to ride the wave of success to He Man. Transformers and Thundercats are the two most successful, as being the series lasted more than a season and still popular.

Really stunning rendition of the Visionaries here! They had a lot of scope for development, I was sad they didn't do more with it back when I was a kid. Well done on this - very evocative.

That's the story for 80s animated shows. Some good ideas but short lived. Mostly because the toys often did not match the cartoon.

"By nature's hand bu crafts, by arts what once was one now fly apart." I can't believe I remembered that incantation from the TV Show all these years later, Nathan's art really takes me back. :)

I don't remeber seeing this cartoon when I was a kid, but I accidently 'bumped to it' when I was  searching something. After I watched some episodes I was wondering if Lego Nexo Knights took some inspiration  from this. Ok, sure, there have always been cartoons wich mixed tech + sorcery,  futuristic+medieval, but for some reason these two cartoons/toylines are  so suspicious to me Sherlock Holmes

I could see why you would think that. Who knows, maybe there was an influence.

Wasnt too big a fan of Visionaries but cant deny that the figures and show were quality.

I didn't own any of the toys but I watched the show. The cartoon was good and the animation was good in most episodes. The toys had holograms and that by itself had little play value. Since other lines of figures had characters the same size and with better weapons/accessories that might have been why the toy line didn't perform well.
