Natalja Cernecka - is a professional graphic artist, painter, illustrator, computer designer and drawing teacher. Natalja was born in 1959 in Riga, Latvia. She studied in the J. Rosenthal art high school from 1970 to 1977. In 1983 she graduated from Latvian State Academy of Arts majoring in graphical art and teaching. Upon completion she worked as a designer of children's shoes at a shoe factory, then for the next 15 years as a drawing and painting teacher at the J. Rosenthal school of art. During this time she produced a lot of graphical art (mostly etchings and engravings on wood), participated in numerous exhibitions, including international. She held several personal exhibitions in Riga. Particularly fruitful, she worked on multiple personal ex-libris designs. Her ex-libris are exhibited in many cities around the world. In 1998, she started working as a computer designer. Natalja worked in various publishing houses, creating layouts of books and magazines, illustrating schoolbooks and and designing educational games for children. In 2012 she and her family permanently moved to France. Natalja lives in Douarnenez - a charming town on the Atlantic coast. Surrounding beauty pushed her to create lot of paintings, mostly oil on wood. In her most recent works, Celtic themes merge and intertwine with themes from her distant past.
