Pissed Off At The World

Vent art.

**Delfi's arm acccessories are mirrored.

Note: Delfi's wings are retractable for when she just wants to blend in with the crowd and let go to the music and dance, her one real love, the one thing that makes her feel alive.

OC rant:
It seemed appropriate that if humans make her loose faith in the race, that Defli be pissed off at the world in its entirely. After all, she is from the very strict royal family of the Rainbow Moon, and continually turns her back on its rigidness to come to Earth and escape. (Don't get this wrong, she loves her people, but she detests the workings of her home monarchy.) Just as she hates to see her own people harming themselves, she hates seeing humans do so, and being that she frequents the raver scene, she comes across some touchy situations. One drastic enough could cause a calamity in her brain and heart, making her safehaven among the humans just as dispicable as the suffocating walls of the palace. Don't judge me for strange stories.

Sorry for a poor mood lately, lovelies. :heart:

I'm hoping to see more of my art too in 2014, honestly, and each year to come. It's been getting hard to draw lately, but here's hoping that's just something to come to pass. I love art very much, and it makes me happy to see such a nice comment at the start of the new year. Thank you very much, and have a pleasant one too!

I love the eyes, the line is thousand times cleaner! And oh boy it's good to come back from vacations in the middle of nowhere and see your colorful art that makes me feel out of space like if I was in another dimension.

That was really sweet to say. Thank you, Rachel.
The eyes were fun. :)
The angle her eyes are normally made it look even more sinister when she leers. teehee
The lineart was actually done in violet this time, so it blended in with the colors.
If you looked at the ink blotches from the back of the paper however, you'd see how messy the shapie's lines are actually. XD Guess that means I pulled it off though! Yay~! haha I'm always weary of inks that bleed.

c: Am I allowed to ask you with which material you coloured this? ^^;

*plays the poor college student card* Mainly Crayola, lol.

But when it comes to skin, I'll go the extra mile. The skin is mostly Prismacolor colored pencil, and one other brand that's also artist-quality, that I've just used too much to be able to tell what the brand name is any more on the pencil. XD

The lineart for this one in particular was done with a fine violet sharpie.

Lastly, I went over it all with some white gel pen. :meow:

ow thank you so much for the info :D! I was amazed about the way the colors were so blended :D

I want to try tric with the white gelpen too one day :D!

Sakura brand packs of white gel pens are getting more popular in art supplies and framing stores recetly. :)

Thank you. ^//u//^ You see, Crayola isn't really that bad for coloring with for fun at all. It's just not as smooth so is more difficult to blend than soft leads like Prismacolor, and the pigments aren't pure, so one purple Crayola colored pencil likely won't be the same kind of purple as another purple Crayola colored pencil. Also, you have to buy them in packs, not individually. These are the reasons artists prefer "artist-brands," but many times people seem to think that in using the artist brands, their coloring skills will imrpove.

No, people shouldn't be spending all that money (it gets very pricy!) on the artist-brand things until they've learned proper technique with cheaper pencils first. The more expensive brands just make it easier once you learn these skills.

I've learnt the skills and can make Crayolas look rather smooth and well-done, so I don't have qualms about buying the more expensive brands for things that must be smoother, like the skin, but to buy a $200+ collection of colors and continually replace them, I just can't afford that at this time.

So sorry for the ramble. ^^;
I think I might copy and paste this on my Profile actually. hahaha
People ask me this every now and then, and usually have a negative outlook on Crayola since it is a childrens'/school brand, not "artist brand." I find it practical for me where I am in an under professional stature.
