I definitely need a break, and my body is trying to force me to do it. I have celiac disease and when I ate out with family today, it seems what I ordered must have gotten cross-contaminated. I know I should not eat out because of the risk, and sometimes people intentionally contaminate my food because they're trying to "make a point" that I won't die if I eat gluten when the reality is that I very much can, but I don't think it's too much to ask that on the few occasions that I do try to feel like a "normal" person with what limited options I have, that those limited options actually be gluten free when they get to me. And there's so much pressure to actually eat out when your family tries to circulate their eating out plans around someplace you can potentially eat at so that you're included on family things. This is not a lifestyle choice for me, and even if it were, don't force something into someone else's body that they did not want there. They have the right to their bodily autonomy, and it's a cruel thing to forcibly overpower that from them. It's their body, not yours, so let them nourish it how they see fit if no one is being hurt. I honestly think the case this time was merely carelessness, not intentional, but I'm still sick either way. I have some artwork pre-made for tomorrow, so I'll try to rest. Sorry for the rant. 🙏🏻

That's so horrible D:
I can't believe people would do that, it's so cruel TT.TT

I have a cousin who is gluten intolerant and it was really hard on parties to try to not just give him the same thing over and over, and I can imagine that alone is annoying enough not to mention the inconvenience of not knowing if people will respect what you need and getting sick if they choose not to :(

I'm sorry Waaaah!

It's annoying too that I've had people literally talk shit about me because of the gluten to their coworkers in Spanish, assuming that I can't understand them, but because I'm not confrontational I don't respond back. The one time I did respond back, it was the manager and she just laughed at me. It's so dis-empowering and frustrating. People should just have some common decency, I swear.

I just want the same opportunity to enjoy a meal out like anyone else, you know? :( I feel for your cousin.
