Yearly synopsis: 

<sub>I applied for Study Abroad to Yokohama but did not get accepted in the highly competitive slots. I also attempted to apply for an intensive comics program in summer but was unable to complete the application process due to information withheld from me, which was not the program’s fault.

Allowed my friend, Inner Glow Illustrations, to split my SacAnime Winter booth as a farewell present to him before he moved for university. He was very successful! It was my first time splitting a booth and he vlogged the con. (Check his Facebook page for it!)</sub>

_{I worked very hard to make them despite my debilitating mysterious and nearly deadly skin condition (still not diagnosed). I was working this summer as a caretaker but unfortunately ended up having to stop because I was in the ER for three nights in a row before admitted as in-patient until I could be stabilized. I spent my time outside the hospital stuck at home, instructed not to leave except for doctor's appointments, until just before the start of the semester. Mental fogginess and severe fatigue from the many medications I have been on made me unable to use my usual potential, despite trying my absolute hardest, and so I was assigned a case manager by the university and dropped two classes for the first time with grant forgiveness due to documented medical reasons. I've gained a lot of weight due to the steroids that saved my life, but exercise triggers the rashes, so I'm grateful but also frustrated about how to become a healthier weight again.}

<sub>Before hospitalization, I also worked on and completed the art for a Kawaii Eggplant comic but was unable to finish applying screen-tone on the computer before my personal deadline. (Updates on Facebook.) 

I bought my first brand-name lolita fassion dress from Bodyline, but only secondhand. (I will not buy them directly from the company for ethical reasons.) It is light pink covered in frills. I have another one too of no reputable brand, and while this one has a print and I would love to wear it, I gained too much weight to do so after the hospital. I can barely squeeze into the Bodyline one, but I can! I wore it to  my first time helping host SacAnime's Lolita Morning Tea, as I will be regularly now. 

My uncle was dying for over a month and finally passed in November. Rest his sweet soul.</sub> 
My friend Cecelia tagl passed away in March, but I did not know until shortly after I returned to DA after my laptop was repaired to a workable state in September. 

_{My boyfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary on July 4th.}  

New Year's Resolution: 
Honestly, just try to stay alive at this point. 
Every year seems to be trying to kill me in some abstract way from the celiac disease last-chance diagnosis in 2015, car accident in 2016, and a mysterious skin condition this year in 2017. I may be super unhealthy and unlucky, but damn it, I need to make a comic. Death needs to stop trying to take me until my goals are done.
